1. Perfect Your Booksy Profile to Get Discovered

The first step to make sure your work gets discovered online and that you attract more of your dream clients involves setting up your Booksy Profile. This feature helps clients better understand your vibe, while also letting them get a glimpse at your talent. Plus, businesses with complete profiles are proven to get more bookings.

Start by adding a cover photo, so potential clients can see what you're all about. Within the app, tap on the Profile icon on the Main Menu, and then select the pencil icon in the corner of your screen. If you don't have a current photo tap Add Media to update your photo. And then click the Pencil icon in the corner of the photo when choosing an image.

Because your Booksy Profile is the first thing potential customers will see, make sure it's high quality and that it accurately represents your brand. Head to your Settings and navigate to Business Details. Tap Profile Images to edit your logo, cover photo, and workplace photos. And remember to update all three of these photo selections.

Once your visuals are all set, click on the Business Name and Info section to provide details about your brand, just like an elevator pitch. Use the short description field to list your credentials. And try to highlight your specialties while explaining exactly what you're passionate about. From there, add your social media links to direct potential clients to your Instagram account, Facebook page, website, and online shop

These steps are designed to help clients better understand your brand, so that you can get discovered. Another benefit is that these actions will help make sure that the customers you're attracting are a great fit. Remember to select Save to make your changes official. Navigate back to your Booksy Profile to see the final results. Finally, use the Live Preview option to see how your profile looks to customers.

2. Show Off Your Skills

Now that your Booksy Profile is set up, get ready to showcase your skills. According to our research, in parts of the country, hundreds of Booksy customers could view your profile each month. And that means the next step involves setting yourself apart from the competition. Let's start by building out your Service Menu to let clients know the skill sets that you offer.

Select the Profile icon from the Main Menu. Then go to Settings and click on Services Setup and tap Services. For industry pros with diverse service offerings, start by adding Service Categories in the top right corner. The end goal should be a list of services displayed in a structured order underneath your Categories, to make it easier for clients to find and book the specific service they’re seeking.

Next, it’s time to start adding services and assigning them to specific categories. Make sure to fill out the basic details: Service Name, Category, Pricing, and Duration. But there are also customization options available. Remember each service can have its own unique settings. Another trick for making your list of services more visually appealing is to add photos of your work to a service. This seemingly small step can seal the deal for clients thinking about booking.

Another important step in making sure your Booksy Profile stands out involves one of the most important features on Booksy—your Portfolio. Our research shows that Booksy Profiles with more than 10 images get almost three times more bookings. To add to your Portfolio head over to the Profile tab from the Main Menu. Scroll down to Portfolio and start uploading photos.

It’s important to use actual photos of your work instead of stock images. And make sure to always preview your images after uploading. Customers are looking for high quality images, so be sure to remove anything that doesn't look professional. As a final step, tap on the Eye icon in the corner to see a preview of your categorized services, images, and descriptions of your services and your portfolio.

3. Build Your Reputation to Get Discovered

Positive feedback from loyal clients that’s displayed publicly is one of the most powerful marketing tools you can have as a small business owner. It can also help fill your calendar too. And earning just one Review on your Booksy Profile, makes a business five times more likely to get booked, according to our data analysts.

When it comes to using Booksy to build and maintain your reputation, open the Marketing Tab and go to Import and start inviting clients. Choose to add all of your contacts or select people individually. Once the import is complete, send a message inviting your clients to download the Booksy app and start booking. If you're just getting started with Booksy, make sure to invite friends, family members, and acquaintances to be your first clients.

Once you’ve invited a host of clients into your chair, it's time to get them talking. Reviews are proven to attract new business, so we recommend making them a priority. After each appointment, encourage your clients to add a Review to your Booksy Profile to share their experience.

Don't forget to leverage Message Blasts and Social Posts as well. Want to see how you're doing? Visit your profile and scroll to recent Reviews. Here you can read customer comments and keep the conversation going. Use Review responses to show your appreciation and encourage repeat business. If you see something you like—share it on social media.

With a couple of quick taps you can post your positive Reviews onto Instagram for everyone to see. Even though Reviews are also public on your Booksy Profile, use the Preview button to read through them. Try to monitor your average review score and keep reaching for the stars. Businesses with average review scores above 4.8 are 20 percent more likely to earn bookings, according to our researchers.

4. Get Discovered on Booksy Marketplace

Now that your Booksy Profile looks polished and you've earned a few 5-star reviews from clients—getting discovered on Booksy is just a matter of time. To ensure your success, confirm that your profile is live on the Booksy Marketplace, where you'll enjoy an average of roughly 200 views per month.

To make sure clients can find your Booksy Profile when they search for a service on Booksy, check your search visibility. It was enabled by default when you created an account. But you can disable and enable your ability to appear in searches manually. And it’s also possible to customize this setting. Each staffer and each service also has a toggle option for online booking settings—modify them as necessary too.

After verifying your online booking settings and making sure your profile appears on Booky Marketplace, make it easy for your customers to book an appointment with you no matter where they find you. Turn online followers into customers by connecting your Booksy Profile directly to Facebook, Instagram, Google, and your website.

With the Book Now Button, whenever someone finds your business online, all they have to do is click to set up their appointment. The Book Now Button makes it easier than ever for your work to get discovered. Select Share in your Booksy Profile to find your unique Booksy Profile Link. Add it to your social media bios, emails, text messages, and business cards to bring customers directly to your Booksy Profile.

To help bring even more attention to your Booksy Profile, turn to Boost to increase your exposure. Activating Boost is simple. Just head to Marketing and select Boost to increase your exposure by securing a higher ranking in our search results. There is no monthly fee to use Boost. But for every new customer you earn from Boost, we collect a percentage from the first service of that new customer. Then after that, 100% of the profits go directly to you. On average, businesses who use Booksy see 48 percent more new clients walking through their door.

5. Earn More Bookings

At this stage, it’s time to earn more bookings. As more clients start scheduling appointments, you'll appreciate how Booksy works for you behind the scenes. With automated bookings, you can save up to 12 hours per month on texts and phone calls. To save even more time let Booksy handle your Payments and protect you from cancellations and no-shows.

Start by making sure the settings for your bookings are in order. Reminding clients about their upcoming appointments takes time away from your day. Instead, let Booksy confirm your appointments and send reminders to clients. To set up this feature, open Booking Settings. Use the Toggle tool to make sure Booksy automatically confirms bookings on your behalf to help you keep track of your constantly evolving calendar.

Enable notifications so that every time you earn a new booking or an existing booking changes—you're always up to date. Simply check your settings in the Booksy app to make sure your phone allows notifications, which can streamline the booking process.

Then head to Customer Payments to adjust how clients pay for your services. From there, it’s easy to set up your Booksy payment solutions. Use Booksy Card Reader for processing payments onsite and use Mobile Payments for settling up. To best serve Booksy providers, both solutions are fully integrated into the checkout experience.

After enabling Mobile Payments, take advantage of Booksy’s No-Show Protection features. Set up cancellation fees for when clients are late, cancel, or no-show. Use prepayments to charge clients a portion of a service upfront during booking. That way, if a client cancels at the last minute or doesn't show, you can charge them a cancellation fee. Holding clients accountable for their sessions has saved industry professionals hundreds each month.

6. Keep Up the Momentum

If you've taken all of the above steps listed in this article, then you know how to make sure your business can get discovered by new clients. And your business is ready to thrive on Booksy. To keep up that momentum, learn to use Booksy’s built-in marketing suite. These tools can help you keep a rapport with your clients, even when they're outside of the shop or salon. And all you have to do is use customized templates and automations.

Take a moment to select the Marketing tab in the app to access all of these already available tools, such as the Social Post Creator. Use it to engage with your followers on social media by publishing pre-populated templates to promote your services, build your online reputation, or celebrate holidays or special occasions using the professionally designed images and suggested messages inside the app.

For keeping clients in the loop and building loyalty, use Message Blasts. Set up automated communications to work for you behind the scenes. Or create custom Message Blasts, when the need arises. Message Blasts are fully customizable, so feel free to adjust the written content and end out timelines.

As your business grows, your team might too. Head over to Settings to add new staffers. Create a profile for each staffer to assign their services. Set their working hours, add permissions, and invite them to use the Booksy app, so they can also get discovered.
