What made you pursue a career in the barber industry?

I started barbering at the age of 14, self-taught. I had a knack for it. As an artist, I picked it up quick and became very creative. I started with patterns and grew from that.

What do you feel is the most important part of your business?

I believe my customer care and our atmosphere is most important, we have recently converted our cellar into a VIP waiting area and coffee bar to give a quality all-round service.

Have you got any advice for people who want to start their work in the barber industry?

Enjoy what you do! If you don't, then it's not for you. Be creative, learn the basics and take your own route, because that what defines good and bad barbers.

The styles, trends and needs of clients in the barber industry are ever changing. Do you find it hard to keep up sometimes? How do you keep up to date with the latest trends?

No, I don't find it hard at all, because I'm a creative barber. I like to create and come up with new ways to fade new shapes, keeping the structural balance in proportion but showing off at the same time. I have clients from Geordie Shore, so I have to keep things fashionable.

Over the years as a barber, you must have had many challenging requests from your clients. Can you tell us what was the most complicated, or the strangest request you received?

I love a challenge and will give anything a go. The most challenging have got to be the three hair portraits of Bob Marley, Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather.

What is your key to success?

I'd say my drive and artistic flare. I keeping going until it works and that's what I live by. I never fail, because I don't stop until I succeed.

What made you decide to start using Booksy?

I was offered a trial about a year ago but was hesitant as I didn't know if it would work or not. But it's the best thing I've done and should have done it when I was first introduced. I believe I will do great things alongside Booksy.

How did Booksy change your salon?

I was already very popular and, as a business, we were growing by the day. But as we were growing, it was becoming harder to keep organised. Potentially, I could have lost clients as the wait was 2/3 hours. Booksy has helped me grow already and took a huge weight off my shoulders.

What is your favourite Booksy feature?

I just love being organised but I have to admit the message blast feature is genius. It enables me to contact all my clients at once.

What do your clients think of Booksy?

I've never had a complaint or negative comment about Booksy and clients have been so happy. They don't have to queue anymore. And how simple it is to use!

What are your goals for the future?

I just want to keep developing and spread across the country. I'd like my second shop in my home city Leicester. I've launched my own range of products, so I'd like to have an online shop. In the long term, I'd love to have a stable enough brand to sell my brand to Manley, a hotel in Dubai.
