School Holiday Coffee Training program
by Prabin Maharjan
Our teen was really excited to take a 1hr holiday barista course! We had a few issues booking in the course but we weren’t going to let that get in th...e way of the experience. Our teen didn’t have the best experience as the machine he was put didn’t do what it was meant to and the facilitator didn’t attempt to rectify the issue. They were also only able to select 1 button the machine! However, they did learn how to do latte art and take 2 coffees home as well as a certificate of attendance. The course was late afternoon, therefore I would recommend if this course is being run again that the kids work with decaf coffee. All in all, my teen had a good experience. Show more

Brew Dreams Coffee Training
Hi Sarah Thank you for the feedback. The training the students received was barista activity than an actual barista course. The barista course is time consuming and puts too much pressure on the kids. Also to let you know you never use all the buttons on espresso machine. I have never seen a café that uses all the buttons in my 19 years work as café worker, café trainer and café owners. The main reason being is the consistency. Lastly, I got 3 businesses that I look after. But I still take time off to train kids for free. That’s why the training is mostly in the afternoon. I never advertised saying the barista activity is in the morning you signed up for the afternoon. There is no point in training kids with decaf coffee because of the crema colour and espresso flavour. It will be like cooking classes with Play-Doh. Regards Prabin
