This was my first appointment at Barber Shop 161. my previous hairdresser retired and i followed a recommendation for Barber 161. 1. I booked a mont...h in advance, On the morning of my 10 am appointment, I received a message from Alex that she could not make it. She arranged for Roger to cut my hair instead, at the same time. I arrived just a few minutes before 10 am and the shop was closed with no one there. Roger finally arrived 15 minutes late. 2. The shop was a mess. Nothing was put away. Roger asked me to sit at a barber chair. The floor as littered with hair from the previous day. The shelves were filthy. the tools (scissors, brushes, and combs) seemed dirty. I was disgusted. 3. At the end, Roger handed me the Visa machine with a charge of $45 (more than I had been quoted in the appointment). the machine was on the 'Tip" page. Imagine that, after all that, Roger expected a tip! i am completely disappointed with this Shop. I will never return. Show more

Hello Jean-Pierre, we sincerely apologize for the barber’s delay and for the change in your appointment — Alex was sick that morning, and Roger came as soon as he could. Our prices changed on October 1st, from $38 to $45. If you booked before that date, it was our mistake not to check — and of course, we never meant to overcharge you. As for the hair, sometimes a bit remains from the previous day, though we do have cleaning service weekly. We’re truly sorry for the inconvenience.
