I have one piece of advice: don’t switch your appointment day or time. Professionalism turned into complacency after a few sessions. The first session... was the best I ever had my hair done, which I’ve left a 5-star review for. Sessions after that, there have been occasions of excuses of not being able to start on time due to “ building issues,” so she says, but after a stylist cancellation yesterday, I’ve come to realize my kindness and appointments have been pushed back so she can continue her own personal agenda. She asks clients what color braiding hair they want, yet on one occasion she used #1 boho throughout my head instead of the color discussed. I only noticed in sunlight after buying a different pack for comparison. When I asked, she claimed she “accidentally put it back in the wrong bag,” which is hard to believe considering the obvious difference between black and brown. On another occasion she wanted to rebook me for some test she claimed was mandatory that she take being that she just got into medical school. Instead of taking me as soon as possible which would’ve been 6pm which isn’t far from her usual 5pm slot she decided it’s ok for a 1:30 am slot.This last time around, I was supposed to have an appointment with her at 5:30 am this friday, but on Wednesday, she texted me asking if I wanted to come earlier because she was free Thursday, but again, I had school. She offered me an earlier time so I could have the rest of Friday to “myself” , when in reality, she wanted the rest of Friday to herself! I lowered the time for her, not me, to 4:30 am and told her the time I would be leaving the house, which was 4 a.m. At 3:56, she texted me letting me know that the building had a power outage.😭 Which the previous 4 times I’ve gotten my hair done by her, she’s never been in her shop 30 minutes early; she’s always met me there, so I knew it was a lie from the get-go. She claims it happened before and showed me messages from her and her landlord to back up her excuse, which was sort of credible, but when I checked the PG&E website, there was no outage reported. Which the messages could’ve been pulled on another client cause there messages states that she has another one in a few hours and she says that at midnight, as if that lie couldn’t have been for another client like myself like girl be realistic but anyways. She knew to text me before I pulled off because it takes me about 10 minutes to get to the place. We talked it over; she offered me money off, which sounded like a good deal, and when the landlord got back to her, we would get started. Hours went by, and she claimed the landlord never got back to her. I told her that the site said there was no outage but she just kept bringing up the landlord, when in reality she didn’t need her ok, because bree was “ there this morning because how else would she know there was a power outage” I checked the site over and over and still no outage; she had no sense of urgency but was quick to make a client make that DEPOSIT to save their spot lol. And slow as hell to send it back because she was “asleep”. When I told her I didn’t have any plans, that gave her the green light to not get back to me until I reached back out to her. And she probably wouldn’t have until she was done doing whatever she was doing. Blaming that the landlord had the key and no one could unlock it but her and all a sudden saying she never got back to you all day is a little sketchy but she’ll never have to worry about me again. Ultimately, I thought we had built a good client-stylist relationship, but it became clear what she Felt she could get away with once clients got comfortable. stylists like this blur the line between professionalism and friendship and assume clients will tolerate it. She’s made it clear she doesn’t care about the clients she does lose but it doesn’t mean new clients shouldn’t be aware of her tactics. You can keep the god bless and reply to your self bree. I would actually like to respond to this i am overly honest about what ever i got going on and maybe i was too honest to you but I’d never be dishonest about anything. I made sure to arrive early because I wanted to clean up from two days prior, where i didn’t get a chance to do so. I changed your appointment due to a positive TB skin test and said I’d give you the results if you wanted to see. Soon as i got my chest xray back I offered to take you and everyone else I cancelled. Yeah sometimes I reuse old hair from other appts and messed up also offered you a discount for that. To say i don’t care is distasteful and libelist. I blew a fuse and it’s been happening since the building is old. It is true I do not have a key to the fuse box and my landlord couldn’t get back to me because she was ill. I waited up from 4am to 8am then rested and then went about my day then back again to see. Idc what the website says as my actually listing isnt my actual address. I am sorry i fell asleep but offered your money back and sent it right away once i woke up. I’ve never been money hungry at all when it comes to this stuff which is why my prices are affordable. I had such a great experience with Bree! She was on time, professional, and incredibly fast without compromising quality. I really appreciated that sh...e cared about protecting my hair by not braiding too tight, which made the whole process so much more comfortable. She also created a calm and relaxing environment, was super nice to talk to, and most importantly—she listened to exactly what I wanted. The stylist was very sweet, but unfortunately my experience wasn’t the best. The booking system (Boosky) is a bit confusing, so I sent her a photo of ...what I wanted and she told me what to book under. I brought my own add-on hair, but when I arrived, I learned that hair was already included in the price. It would’ve been helpful if that had been clarified up front, especially since no adjustment was made when I used my own. During the appointment, I felt uncomfortable with some of the personal comments shared, including repeated negative remarks about white people. I chose not to engage in that conversation, but it added to the uneasiness of sitting in the chair. At the end, when I kindly expressed that I wasn’t fully satisfied with my style, my feedback was taken as me having an “attitude.” As a Black woman, I couldn’t help but feel that assumption was unfair and based more on bias than on how I actually spoke. For clients with 4C hair, I would also suggest extra care during the process, as the handling felt a bit rough at times. Another concern I noticed once I got home was that the superglue (see photo) used in my hair left visible white flakes throughout my braids, which was disappointing after such a long appointment my 1st appointment I had with her she was 2 hours late so I decided to give her a second chance. I wish she would handle this like a mature adult and reach out our send my change to my Venmo, Cashapp or ApplePay even Zelle! Calling the police on me is hilarious what would you say I didn’t give client her change. I think there’s potential here because she has a warm personality, but with clearer communication, more comfortable seating, and more attentiveness to client concerns, the overall experience could be much better. I appreciate the your words back but can’t help but feeling this was very one sided and I can’t even properly defend myself without proof that you refused with finishing of your hair and the mousse or photos. I too am a Black woman so I'm not sure where the race card is coming from. To anyone who sees this I hope it doesn't reflect my business or true character as this isn't your first appointment with me and I was authentically myself every time. just very confused again with your actions reactions and these comments.
