Sew-In Extensions

Cons: I don’t feel the service was worth the $215 price point given the overall atmosphere. While there were moments I enjoyed, the experience did not... feel professional. I was particularly disappointed that Catherine did not wash my bundles, even though we had discussed this on the phone prior to my appointment. After she finished braiding, I asked whether the bundles were going to be washed, and her response was rude and off-putting. While I understand that I could have spoken up sooner, the way my question was handled negatively impacted my experience. She also seemed to have an attitude during my visit. I’m not sure if she was having an off day, but it affected the overall service. Additionally, there was a baby present during the appointment, who belonged to her suite mate. While I understand how difficult it can be to find childcare, especially as a business owner, I don’t feel it’s appropriate to charge professional prices while providing a mediocre customer service experience. After my service was complete, I paid in full and still left a generous tip despite not being completely satisfied. Catherine did call to let me know that I had accidentally left my bundles behind, which I appreciated. However, when I returned alone to retrieve them, without my friend present, she attempted to upsell me hair products at an outrageous price. This made me uncomfortable, especially since I had not expressed interest in purchasing products during the service. Pros: The hairstyle itself was done nicely. Catherine styled my hair well and provided tips on how to maintain and continue styling it. She was also accommodating, particularly since I brought a friend with me, the same friend who referred me to her. Catherine was flexible and understanding while I worked on my laptop during the appointment. ——— Even after my experience, I considered returning to Catherine for another sew-in. However, after hearing about my friend’s experience, the same friend who referred me, I decided against it. My friend had pre-booked her appointment in advance and arrived at her scheduled time, only to be told Catherine was on a lunch break and that she would receive a text once Catherine finished eating. After waiting for over an hour without receiving any communication, my friend finally went inside the salon and discovered that Catherine was actively working on another client during her scheduled appointment time. This was especially disappointing since my friend had booked a simple style and was preparing to travel later that same week. Although my friend did receive a refund, which I appreciate, the situation reinforced my concerns. Overall, Catherine is clearly skilled and capable of doing hair, and I have full confidence in her technical ability. However, based on the pricing and the atmosphere I experienced, I do not believe the cost aligns with the level of professionalism and customer service provided. Show more
