Rome never respects your time and makes you wait repeatedly. I showed up for an appointment on time and he decided that he wanted to race one of his f...riends outside the shop on the street as soon as I got there, making me wait 10-15 minutes to get a cut. Does not prioritize the comfort of the client and is never gentle. With his clippers, he constantly banged the back of my head and left multiple marks on my face that took time to heal. Very unprofessional barber and has a terrible attitude. Find another barber, lots of talented and kind people in the bay! Follow up reply: Dishonesty and wasting your clients time repeatedly is not okay. I decided to give one last chance for a haircut and was met by a cold demeanor and terrible attitude. There was no mention of a cheap service from me and most of my visits were full price and not on Wednesdays. Regarding your foot race, I walked jnto the shop and you decided it was professional to leave the store and have me wait for my appointment. 75% of my appointments you were late. I was late only once. You need to work on your professionalism because you don’t practice that. Blaming a client for your lack of care is astonishing. Customers will never appreciate a barber who has an ego and twists narratives to promote himself.

Thank you for your feedback. I do want to provide some context because I feel this review leaves out important details. There have been multiple occasions where you arrived approximately 15 minutes late to your appointments. Although my policy includes a late fee, when we discussed it, I chose not to charge you after you explained that times were difficult financially. Regarding the footrace mentioned, that happened over two months ago, and we had already finished as you arrived at the shop. It did not result in the 10–15 minute delay described here. I also take client comfort seriously and always try to be gentle. During a haircut, I occasionally need to ask clients to reposition or relax their head so I can safely and properly perform the service. When those instructions aren’t followed, it can make certain parts of the haircut more difficult. During your most recent appointment, the interaction changed after you stated that the absolute only reason you come to me is because my Wednesday service is cheap. Rather than argue or respond personally, I remained quiet, completed your haircut, and kept my personal opinions to myself. I believe that was the professional way to handle the situation. I respect your decision to find another barber and wish you the best moving forward. I stand behind the way I treat my clients and will continue working to provide a professional experience for everyone who sits in my chair.
