This was my second visit with Desh, and this time I added a detox. Both visits had me feeling like the very first day I started my locs — fresh, renew...ed, and transformed. Desh works efficiently, her technique is clean, and the results are always top tier. What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. The owner greets everyone who walks through the door, and the whole shop has a welcoming, family-like energy. It’s the kind of place you feel comfortable requesting a service because you already know you’re going to walk out looking and feeling better than when you came in. You can tell the professionals in there have great rapport with each other — real teamwork, real community. It reminds me of being a kid in the barbershop with my dad. Spaces like this are exactly what we need in the Black community: places that feel like home and deliver real excellence. This is definitely the type of shop I can see myself bringing my sons to — whether it’s starting their locs or getting their cuts. Thank you, Desh, for your great work and talent, and thank you to Legacy Barber Lounge for housing such a stylist. The two are a match made in heaven if I’ve ever seen one. Show more
