This is a bit of a late review. I can confidently say without a doubt that bringing my son with sensory difficulties to smash blendz was the best deci...sion I've made all year. My son was not and has never been an easy client and I was so anxious to bring him anywhere. She took her time to get him comfortable and made sure it was okay with him. She had her own techniques to accommodate him and it worked perfectly, she continously kept her patience. The only trouble was towards the end when he was over the whole haircut process, that had nothing to do with the stylist, some kids as my own are done when they are done and my sons limit was about 30 minutes, even with him becoming flustered she powered through and did it which was difficult and as soon as he was completely done getting his haircut the sensory meltdown subsided pretty quickly. I don't remember her name, but I will forever bring my son to her for any haircut. I knew within ten minutes she's a professional and has done many sensory friendly haircuts. As a mom, I know how anxious it can be to bring your child to get a haircut when he/she will not cooperate, give smash blendz a try and make sure to book the sensory friendly haircut. She even texted the day of the appointment to help guide the parking and how to get there, along with asking questions about the child and style wanted. I know how hard it can be to trust someone new with your child, especially when sensory challenges are involved, and I’m so grateful you gave me the chance. It was truly an honor to work with your son. He's such a sweet guy 🖤 I could see how strong and brave he was, even when it got tough. I know 30 minutes can feel like forever when you’re at your limit, and the fact that he powered through is something to be so proud of. I’m just glad I could be patient and flexible enough to help him get through it without pushing too far. My goal is always to make sure kids feel safe, understood, and in control of their experience even if that means slowing down or changing course and trying to find the thing that works for them in the moment! I also really appreciate you mentioning the extra steps, like texting you the day of the appointment. I know that just getting to the shop can sometimes feel overwhelming, and if I can make things even a little bit easier, I’m happy to do it. Your kindness and trust truly mean everything. As a mom of a 3 yr old autistic son haircuts have never been our friend. Considering my sons hair grows so fast and he needs them every 4m or so I hav...e had to sit in the chair with him previously (which I was fine with if it made my child comfortable…) With Ashley not only was she SO patient with him and meet him on his level and with his needs she got me the cute haircut I’ve wanted for my son since her was a year old… Would recommend Ashley 1000% over and over again and couldnt say enough great things about her!! My older kids love her as well!! Show more

As a mom of an autistic child… haircuts can be a nightmare. This is the first appointment that I haven’t had chest pains or felt like I was going to b...e sick over it. Ash made him feel so comfortable and took her time with him. She let him pick what style haircut he wanted after I explained how I wanted it more or less. His confidence in how he looks is out of this world and it’s only been like an hour. He’s so happy with it and excited to see Mrs. Ash for his next haircut! I would recommend her to anyone! Super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure not only he was comfortable but that I was as well. Show more
