I love Shawn and he is the"Magic Man" when it comes to all things color and cut! He is Pilot Point's hidden gem. We all know how difficult it can b...e to find a talented hair professional and he was the godsend to me three years ago. He always kept my hair looking right and ready with gorgeous hi lites that would make Jennifer Aniston green with envy. Then, I decided to travel for 18 months, I allowed my hair to be free and au naturale... there was no way I was going to let anyone other than Shawn touch my hair, because I would rather have grown out hair and wear a hat, than a bad cut and color that takes time to fix. I am back and have a "no baseball hat allowed" job again so Shawn was one of my first lines to contact and, as you can see... the quality of his talent shines through! Not only is he talented, but he is kind, compassionate and will do all that is within his power to make your hair the best it can look and respect your wishes as to the final product. He has always responded to me when I have had any questions about styling products, and concerns I had about overprocessing my hair, which was one of the issues he had to actually fix for me when I first started as his client. If you are seeking a true hair artist, not just someone who does hair, you will not be disappointed, and when you leave his chair, your hair will look and feel fantastic! 100/10!!! There is NO ONE who does color like Shawn! 🎨I’ve been to so many people who just couldn’t quite hit the mark, but Shawn NAILS it every sin...gle time. He came with options, took his time, and made sure the color was absolutely perfect—and LOOK AT IT. 🤌🏼 FLAWLESS. He’s insanely talented, a total professional, and I trust him implicitly with my hair. At this point, Shawn could tell me we’re going purple and I’d probably just say, “Okay, do your thing.” 😂 Color genius. Period. 👏🏼

I have waited to write this review because I wanted to give myself time to process what happened to my hair, and more importantly, I wanted to give Sh...awn an opportunity to address it privately. I contacted him directly, sent him a detailed message explaining the damage, and asked what he was willing to do to make it right. He never responded. I had my appointment with Shawn on August 12th, and I want to make something very clear from the beginning: I walked into this appointment with healthy, strong hair. I had spent FOUR YEARS getting my hair healthy again after damage from years ago. Before Shawn ever started the service, we specifically discussed the condition and integrity of my hair. Shawn examined my hair himself and told me it was healthy and strong. Which I knew and pictures show how long and healthy it was. I cannot emphasize this enough because I don't want anyone reading this to assume that I arrived with severely compromised hair and then blamed the stylist afterward. I did not. My hair was healthy, manageable, did not tangle, and had been carefully maintained for years. I was also probably more explicit about protecting my hair than most clients would ever think they needed to be. I told Shawn repeatedly that the health of my hair was my absolute #1 priority. I explained what I had gone through four years earlier and how long it had taken me to get my hair healthy again. I begged him not to damage my hair. My color request was actually fairly simple. I wanted natural, lived-in blonde with a rooted appearance, dimension and an easy grow-out. My biggest complaint about my existing color was that the blonde was pulling yellow. I wanted to slowly brighten the blonde I already had while KEEPING dimension. I never asked to be platinum blonde to my roots. I never asked for a solid blonde appearance. And I absolutely never asked for a Scandinavian hairline. Which Shawn told me after he had already process it that he had given me a Scandinavian hairline. Had he told me before putting bleach on my hairline that this was his plan, I would have immediately said no. It isn't the look I wanted, and it is essentially the opposite of the rooted, dimensional, lower-maintenance blonde I described. Plus it took a TON of bleaching to do. Even more importantly, we had specifically discussed NO OVERLAP on my money piece. I told Shawn that my hair had been colored only about a month earlier and repeatedly emphasized that he needed to be extremely careful with the front/money-piece area. I specifically said there could not be overlap. He acknowledged that and agreed. That area is now one of the most damaged parts of my hair. At my consultation, my understanding was that we were going to correct the thickness (wide) money piece, add highlights on thr bottom half of my hair because fir 4 years, i had onky gotten partial highlights. I had virgin hair because that area hadn't been touch and it is now completely fried and breaking off and then wed gloss my hair to helpthe yellow. We had specifically discussed WAITING before doing more to the rest because it had recently been colored. What was ultimately done was dramatically more extensive than what I understood we had agreed upon. If getting my hair to this level of blonde required pushing previously processed hair this aggressively, then a test strand and a consult with me again should have been performed and the plan should have been clearly explained to me before proceeding. A client sitting under foils cannot possibly know exactly which sections are being lightened, what is being overlapped, or how aggressively their hair is being processed. I trusted the professional I hired to make those decisions based on the priorities we had discussed. And my priority could not have been clearer: do not sacrifice the health of my hair to make me blonder.
