Was in town for an event this weekend and decided to book an appt for some biho knotless. This was my first time coming here and my first time getting... boho. I booked with Leo and she was amazing. I got there a little early, so the shop wasn't yet opened and I got worried. So much research to find the right braiding spot, spirits don't let me be wrong. Leo washed, prepped, blow dried, and braiding my hair. We took a short meal break and I was happy that she was caring for herself. She is the gentlest braider I've ever experienced. Every braid felt good going in. No pulling, yanking, nothing. At one moment, I noticed her gently teasing a knot out of my hair. I felt so cared for. Other braiders have yanked my hair apart as a solution to knots. Like, ma'am, relax. My hair doesn't even tangle like that. Tranquila. But Leo was just.... I haven't been able to stop praising her. What a treat. Total was ~ $300 for wash, dry, boho knotless. Website was easy to navigate. Booking easy and intuitive. And calling/texting were easy and prompt replies. I’ve been here twice for a silk press and then knotless braids. They do full service so I got a wash, dry and they have braiding hair in the salon. Am...azing service and my hair always looks great. All the hairdressers are so nice and they let me pick a few movies to watch. Show more

0 stars if I could. I booked a same day silk press in accordance with their calendar. I paid my $30 deposit and took their rigid rules seriously. I ar...rive on time and instead of a pleasant and professional greeting, one of the women sucked her teeth when I said what I was there for. Then they stalled and kept me under the dryer instead of communicating professionally to let me know they are short staffed or don’t keep up with their calendar. #supportblackbusinesses. Show more

Good afternoon, we have read your review and we are so sorry that you have had an bad experience with us, at Hairstyles by K, we believe in treating our clients with extreme care and are sorry you felt like you did not receive that. The review stated that you followed our rules but seemed to have missed the most important rule : “when booking a same day appointment, you have to call ahead because we do take walk-ins and the booking does not reflect that” That being said, you booked your appointment the same day and did not call to confirm with us before hand. Your stylist was not aware of your booking and was working on a client already, what you interpreted as a bad greeting was surprise from our part and trying to see how we could deal with the situation as we did not want to waste your time. Another stylist while waiting for her client, washed and conditioned your hair and put you under the dryer, not to stall but to get started with your process as you have to prepare the hair for a silk-press, it takes time dear, after the dryer you would been moved to the steamer and by the time you were done stylist would have been long done and ready for you, you have have gotten amazing results and done on time but you left a few minutes under the dryer with products still in your hair. We understand that things can get frustrating and we wish that you would have communicated with us instead of walking out, we apologize if you felt neglected, that was never our intention!

Hairstyles by K is truly a gem. I drove all the way from Queens to get my hair done here. A hairstylist canceled on me last minute before new year and... I happened to find this salon on Instagram and surprisingly there was an appointment on Sunday, December 31 which was very accommodating. Ms. K and the other hairstylists in the salon were very welcoming. Ms. K started on time and asked me how I was doing. She had amazing work ethic and never really took any breaks in between doing my hair. She did a wonderful job on my hair and asked me multiple times if my braids felt OK and weren’t tight. She offered water, tea and wine. The salon was welcoming and my hair came out perfect and exactly how I wanted. It was very refreshing to be in a hair salon that was professional, had great work ethic and treated the customers with respect. Just want to start out by thanking Ney for such an amazing service yesterday(Sunday) . I love how my braids turned out. The booking was easy due to th...e instructions listed before the booking on the website , I was offered refreshments twice during my service(but I declined.. I had ate before the service) , and there was overall constant communication from braider/ stylist throughout the service. I even got a nap in. The parts are very neat and all products used smelled soo good. Everyone was very polite and had a positive attitude. Definitely will return for another style.
