I want to start by saying this salon came recommended by several people I know, which is why I chose to try it. I’ve been growing out my natural nails... for six months and was excited to finally get a gel manicure. When I arrived, I was asked to pick a color and was moved between multiple stations after requesting a simple design. When I asked about pricing, I was told the design would be an additional $15, which I agreed to. I saw a sign with an up charge of $10 for cateye polish so the $15 made sense. During the service, the technician asked what shade of green I wanted and I told her she could choose. Part of the design required mixing colors, and I didn’t realize how different the two greens were until after I left. In the reference photo I showed, the design was the same shade of green throughout. I wouldn’t have minded if the colors were at least similar. The biggest issue came at checkout. I was told my total was $80. Since the gel manicure is listed at $35 and I thought I was told the design was $15, I questioned the total. At that point, I was told the design actually cost $50, with a $5 discount applied. Charging $45 for a very simple design—more than the manicure itself makes no sense to me. I paid and left a tip, but I’ve been getting my nails done for years and at this price point I typically receive a full set of acrylics or Gel-X with a much more detailed design. I’m absolutely willing to pay for quality services, but $45 for a simple design was unexpected. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience left me very upset, and I will not be returning.
