Im super late with this review but Lucke deserves the 5 stars!! I usually wait a little to see how my hair feels after the first wash and I must say t...hat my hair is pretty healthy. I had a bad experience in a Brooklyn salon and pretty sure that the hair stylist damn near destroyed my hair by putting Henna in it, let alone he didnt do what I asked. Lucke took his time with my hair and even educated me throughout the process. He's very charismatic and made me feel safe and comfortable throughout the visit. Definitely worth the travel from Brooklyn!! Thank you for saving my hair!!! Show more

I simply love you!
This was the strangest salon experience I have ever had so I feel like I have to share. I initially booked an appointment for lowlights, with the exp...ectation that I would be adding highlights to touch up the blonde highlights that were already in my hair. However, Luke did all over color on my hair without warning. When my head was put in the salon bowl I assumed it was going to be washed, but he simply put bleach on my dirty hair. I was there for maybe a total of 45 minutes, which is double the time my appointment was late by. I wouldn’t be complaining about how strange the process was if it weren’t for how my hair turned out. I had no other expectation for my hair other than I wanted it to be a pretty shade of blonde. I got my hair done a week ago and people have been calling me “ginger” ever since. He turned my roots red. I’m a natural brunette, this isn’t my first time going blonde, and I have never had this issue before. I also really don’t understand why the fact that this is a home studio isn’t listed anywhere on the website or instagram. That coupled with the fact that Luke complained about his complaining customers the whole time really makes me feel like bad reviews have been removed and the rest were in exchange for free styling. The best cut and color of my life. It’s been about 3 weeks since my color, and I still look in the mirror at my hair and am extremely happy! Lucke kne...w exactly what I wanted, and executed it perfectly. He also did an amazing job with my layers. I’ve asked for layers from many salons before and I usually get a blunt cut with very very little layering, but Lucke gave me the exact cut I wanted. Will 100% be returning. Show more

I have lived in New York all my life and I had my fair share of bad experiences with bs salons in this city. Let me tell you that Lucke IS hands down ...the best hairstylist in New York City, I type this as I’m touching my soft caramel hair. The salon is located in a residential building but the service is no less than absolute luxury. Lucke really understands hair and took his time to hear out my needs. His energy speaks before he does. His passion and expertise is commendable. I went in with overgrown messy hair and came out looking like a Pinterest model! No kidding! This guy will make you feel brand new! Doing my hair at Blonde by Lucke is such a fun and professional experience. While he does your hair, he makes you laugh, he makes you happy and time f...lies. Lucke is a master colorist and just a great person in general. I have been seeing him for over 5 different color sessions spanning the last 2 years. E...ven though he’s no longer in my neighborhood, I will travel to wherever he is - he is worth it. Lucke is extremely meticulous, has an amazing eye for tone and detail. I have naturally dark hair and a lot of stubborn greys, it takes a long time for the color to take. But with Lucke’s technique and patience, my hair always look refreshed longer with minimal brass.
