I don’t even know where to begin!!! I went in for a relaxer, bob cut and style. I usually wear braids and locs but wanted to start growing my hair and... get it to a healthy stand. Shannon was very sweet from the moment I got there. My hair was pretty much damaged from poor hair care but Shannon did everything she could to take care of my hair. Any other stylist would’ve turned me away because the style I booked couldn’t be achieved. But Shannon—very professional, knowledgeable and kind took her time and treated my hair as if it was her own! I left today with a healthy pixie cut that I was first nervous about, but I am super excited for the new beginning of my healthy hair journey! Thank you sooo much again Shannon! Show more

I went to Shannon the Colorist for a color service, and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. After the appointment, I noticed noticeabl...e breakage and chemical damage along the front and sides of my hair about an inch left in spots. During the process, her assistant, who is not licensed, was handling and shampooing my hair while the color was still processing. Shannon even apologized afterward for roughly handling my hair, but the damage was already done.When I reached out to her to discuss the breakage, she told me that “my hair will grow back” and suggested it might be due to stress or internal issues rather than the chemical process. That response felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially after the clear damage I experienced.I’m sharing this review so others can make an informed choice and so that more care and professionalism are shown in the future. I say in her chair 3 years ago to fix a bad cut not a color job. Never speaking bad about the stylist. I actually recommend her to people now with short hair. I express my fear of getting color because I grew my hair out from a pixie back to my regular length hair and was terrified of getting it dyed and falling out. She did offer 4 services of treatment when she is in town I respectfully declined due to my hair needing treatments now versus waiting for her to come into town. I spoke to her respectfully and even stated how I wish this didn’t happen. Shannon also expressed how she liked having me as a client so I couldn’t have been that bad. Her comment of your hair will grow back is what prompted this review. It shows her lack of care and empathy. I made it clear before the service that I hadn’t had my hair colored or chemically processed in over three years and that I was nervous because my last color experience went badly. You assured me everything would be fine. During the service, your assistant who isn’t licensed shampooed my hair while the chemical was still in, and you later apologized for how roughly my hair was handled. The breakage was not immediately visible because of the way my hair was styled, but it became noticeable soon after right before my wedding and honeymoon, which made the situation even more stressful and upsetting. When I reached out, your response was that “my hair will grow back” and that it might be due to stress or vitamin deficiency, which felt very dismissive and unprofessional after the damage I experienced. Also, I wasn’t able to leave a review immediately because I had to contact Booksy directly to access the review option, which caused the delay not a lack of honesty or intent. A screenshot of the message where I inquired about not being able to leave a review is posted. I wish this had been handled with more care and understanding. I stand by my review and hope it encourages more accountability and empathy toward clients in the future. It’s disappointing that instead of acknowledging the damage that occurred, you continue to make this about timing and a refund. Regardless of when I reached out or when I left my review, the fact remains that my hair was chemically damaged after your service. My review is not about money it’s about how the situation was handled and the lack of accountability shown. Dismissing my experience and focusing on a refund minimizes what actually happened and shifts blame instead of addressing the real issue. I have every right to share my experience, and I stand by my review. Show more

Your service was done a month ago, yet you’re only now writing a review. You mentioned noticing damage the day after, but u didn’t reach out until two weeks later, and in that time, u'd also had your hair done elsewhere. I’m truly sorry to hear that you feel this way about your experience. I take every concern about hair health seriously, and I understand how upsetting it can be to experience any kind of breakage. As I mentioned in our private messages, I always aim to provide safe, professional color services using industry-standard products and techniques. During your appointment, I took precautions to protect your hair, including the use of Olaplex and a controlled processing time. My assistant only assists under my supervision, and I take full responsibility for all work performed in my chair. When you reached out, I offered complimentary restorative treatments to help repair and strengthen your hair. I regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. While we may have different perspectives on what led to the breakage, I do wish you nothing but the best in your healthy hair journey.
