I had my first haircut today for my non verbal autistic 3 year old who hates anyone touching his head or hair. Justin took an hour and showed complete... patience and really tried to get down to my sons level to work with him, play with him, while also following him around the barbershop at his own pace trying to cut his hair at the same time. He did not force him in his chair and even though we did not get a full haircut done I am still very impressed at how patient and talented he is and we are hopeful for the future. Show more

I have been getting my hair and beard cut at Axe To Grind ever since they opened. Every barber I have worked with there has been fantastic. Justin, th...e owner, has started specializing in haircuts for children with sensory problems and it has been such a pleasure seeing him grow his shop to a space that families and kids feel safe in and a place where these kids can go, get a cut, and leave feeling better about themselves. Michael has been my main barber for a number of years now and I don't trust anyone else to get me looking perfect other than him. Go to Axe To Grind and leave looking stellar! Show more

I’m so happy I found the “sensory safe” haircut option at Axe to Grind. I never thought my son would get through a haircut without tears. Nick worked ...with my son for an hour, giving him ample time to warm up to him. He then stood, crouched, and sat on the floor in order to get the cut done. I am SO impressed with this business. It warms my heart to know there are establishments like this that enthusiastically welcome kids like my son. Show more
