My experience here at Styles of Grace Hair Studio has always been great! 5 stars is not enough to rate my experience here! This is my 3rd year (38 mon...ths to be exact) coming here and during that time I have never wanted to go anywhere else! When I first came here I didn’t think I would be able to get my locs journey started based on how short I thought my hair was. Shonnette did not turn me away and I left there feeling good and confident even the more for choosing her for my locs journey. Shonnette is such a down to earth loving person! Not only will you leave her hair studio with the freshest locs in Jacksonville but you’ll leave knowing you picked the best place to get your hair done. Good laughs and even a good cry if you need to get it out. Every time I leave here I get compliments on my hair, it never fails. In closing, Shonnette is more than just a loctician, she’s a good friend/big sister.. Good vibes good energy every time you come here. Terrible experience. I left without my hair being styled. Had I been VERBALLY told at the time of my appointment that I couldn’t get my hair styled I ...would’ve left and attempted to do it prior to my event for the evening. She said the braids i had prior ruined my locs however again she never told me she couldn’t do my hair, instead she detangled and washed my hair and attempted to put a loc extension ponytail on my natural untwisted hair!!! That’s not what I paid for however Shonette advised she had another appointment and couldn’t twist my hair. I asked for a partial refund to which she advised the detangle and wash was the same amount as the style i purchased. Disappointed and dissatisfied, I walked out with only a freshly washed head and not even a partial refund. I will never returnand i don’t think i will ever try locs again. Also she makes customers pay the full amount at the time of booking vs. just the deposit. Show more

Rakia let's tell the whole truth here. I did explain to you that your hair didn't look like stater Locs anymore, that it looked like braids that were just taken down with an inch of product built up at the root so we would need to comb out your hair before shampooing if not it would lead to further tangling. You went and got your starter locs braided over and your locs hadn’t matured yet. Your grid was even reconstructed from a natural grid pattern to a box braid grid pattern. Yes you were charged for detangling, shampoo, conditioning and blow drying. I did try to accommodate and even style your hair with either one of the ponytails you brought in and you were so upset with the young lady that did your braids you even reached out to her while sitting in my chair. I did let you know that you would need to make another appointment for starter locs because the time we spent detangling the braids comb out we didn't have enough time for doing a new starter locs set before my next appointment. I even recommended you getting different locs such as Microlocks by me or instant locs by another stylist because you've started your loc journey so many times. I do believe you were so upset with the young lady you weren't listening to me. You refused to be styled and decided to leave. You have to accept the decision that you made. You went and got braids over your starter locs and it ruined your locs that looked to have been combed out. I wish you the best. God bless.
