It was one of those days where nothing seemed to go right. I’d been rushing around nonstop — errands, phone calls, barely a moment to breathe. By the ...time I got to my haircut appointment with Ozzy, I was running late and frazzled. Ozzy greeted me with his usual grin. “Rough day?” he asked, tossing the cape over me. “You have no idea,” I muttered, sinking into the chair. The low hum of the clippers started, and for a moment, I let myself relax. There was something about Ozzy’s shop — the vintage posters, the faint scent of aftershave — that always felt grounding. Then I heard a faint clink from outside. I barely registered it, but Ozzy’s head shot up. His eyes narrowed as he glanced out the window. “Stay here,” he said firmly, setting his tools down. I turned my head just in time to see someone pacing by my car — a guy in a dark hoodie, fiddling with something near the door. My stomach dropped when I realized he was holding a crowbar. Before I could react, Ozzy was already outside. “Hey!” he barked. The guy froze, then turned with a scowl. “None of your business,” the man growled. Ozzy gave a dry chuckle. “Yeah? Well, I make it my business.” That’s when I saw the glint of metal — a knife in the guy’s hand. My breath caught in my throat, but Ozzy didn’t even flinch. In one swift motion, he reached into his apron pocket, grabbed his metal comb — one of those heavy-duty ones he always bragged about — and hurled it straight at the guy’s hand. The knife clattered to the pavement. Before the guy could react, Ozzy lunged, shoving him hard against my car and pinning him there. “Call the cops!” Ozzy shouted back at me. I fumbled with my phone, my hands shaking. By the time the police arrived, Ozzy was back inside like nothing had happened, picking up his scissors as if it were just another Tuesday. “Didn’t know I was a hero, did you?” he teased, blending my fade with ridiculous precision. “You just saved my car… and maybe my life,” I said, still trying to process what had happened. Ozzy shrugged. “All in a day’s work,” he said with a grin. And just like that, he went back to his craft — calm, cool, and sharper than his scissors. Show more
