Two strands twist

First time trying out this braiding shop, I normally go to my hair stylist in Austin but I recently moved to SA so I was looking around for some braid...ers in my area. I came across her shop and the reviews seem pretty okay. I’m giving this a 1 star which honestly should be no stars because of the lack of professionalism and other things. My appointment was scheduled for 430, I was there at 4:20, 10 mins ahead of time. When I walked inside the salon, these ladies where just staring at me as if I was lost, I’m thinking to myself don’t they know that their clients have appointments. Inside the building it was so dirty, trash laying around every where. I tell them I have an appointment, they all look so confused, I still couldn’t find a place to seat. This lady approached me, asked what style I wanted, it was 435 by now, she finally cleared some stuff and made room for me to seat. About 10 mins had gone by I was still seated in the chair, they were occupied working on another client’s hair. I had being waiting for over 25 mins, I’m contemplating on just leaving but I just stayed waiting finally at 5:00 she was done with her client and then started setting up to do my hair. I was already so annoyed, they continuously kept speaking in their native language and laughing amongst each other. This is so rude to me a customer who’s not only annoyed at my appointment being delayed but also doesn’t speak their language. I mean it’s common etiquette to respect people and speak a language which everyone in the room understands. I sit in the chair for about an hour and 20 minutes. She finally finishes, I asked to use the restroom to excuse myself, it was so horrid in there, toilet had not being flush, no paper towels or anything in that bathroom for sanitation. I went back to ask for her form of payment she says uses cash app. I’m thinking to myself this is a $75 service, which really should be 69 giving the fact that she had me waiting on another client, plus on her page it says $60 but I factored in the fact that she used extra hair for extensions. I came in with my hair washed and everything. This lady takes my phone and charges me $100 for two strand twist, I had already expressed to her that I’m new to the city but I used to get my hair braided. I don’t know if she thought i didn’t know how braids work or because I’m black American she can just overprice me and I won’t complain. So distasteful, my mom braids hair for crying out loud. I asked her to explain why the price is a $100, and ofc she couldn’t just stared at me stuttering saying that well the extra hair, mind you this woman kept me waiting 20 mins past my initial appointment schedule. She’s still had the effrontery to overprice me. I wanted to support my fellow African sisters but it was such a sad and distasteful experience. I’m never going there ever again. If you don’t care about waiting 10-15mins from the time you schedule for your appointment, basic sanitation and hygiene and you also don’t care about common etiquettes exercise in a business settings then sure %100 this would be the perfect place for you👍 Show more

Wish I could leave no stars. Even though I was 15 min late, it seems like she overbooked herself anyways. Very rude and unprofessional! Instead of jus...t asking me if I could reschedule the appointment I booked 4 hours in advance, she proceeds to ask questions like she's able and wanting to do it. Letting me know its going to be more than the price shown, which is fine cause it would have been smaller braids and sew-in in the back. When I agreed and told her thats fine and tried to find a smaller braided style she walks off and starts talkin crap in her language to her workers like I was an inconvenience to her! Then tells me my hair is too short, which I know is a lie because I just had it braided. Dont normally leave reviews but the experience I had here was terrible and makes me steer away from other African hair braiders. If time wasn't on your side then that would've been fine, but the insult, ugly faces and huffing and puffing towards my request was uncalled for. DEFINITELY wont be coming here and will gladly spend my money somewhere else. Show more

Two strands twist

Im not going to go back here and I wouldn’t recommend this place, The skill of work is nowhere near where it should be for how much they charged me. I... asked for thick 2 strand twist all around my head and instead I got super skinny/straggly almost toothpick sized twist upfront(and some on the sides) and then as she got towards the back of my head they slowly started to thicken to maybe the size of a about a no.2 pencil (this being the thickest possible strand I could find). Then the way she parted my hair was super uneven which caused me to have some really weird positioned twist to which I actually tried to retwist and fix but found out some of the twist aren’t even 2 strand twist they are like braids or maybe 3 strand twist? I honestly couldn’t tell. But on top of all that the twist didn’t even last for more than 24hrs they started to untwist themselves the very next day. And Tbh the shop isn’t well kept either it’s kinda dirty In there and when I first walked in it was just one person with there pants unbuttoned eating some food upfront. Show more

I booked my appointment through boosky and it was confirmed. This was my first visit to this braiding salon. When i walked in the shop, it was very d...irty hair and trash all over the floor. The two braiders that were there seemed to be shocked that i walked in as if they had no idea i had an appointment. One lady who i did not get her name asked how she could help me i told her i had an appointment and she asked for what service. I was getting a simple service two feed in french braids. She started to do my hair and i just felt it not being right. When she finished, she gave me the mirror to look at her work and it was horrible. My braids looked sloppy as if a beginner had done them not a professional. I explained just that to her so she offered to redo them. The second time around wasn't any better. So i told her i was not happy, so she took it down and just walked away and started helping another stylist with her clint. Left me sitting in the chair didn't even take off my cape. The only good thing about my visit is i did not have to pay for a service i was not pleased with. I will NEVER go back to this salon again. Show more

My appointment was started nearly an hour late because my braider was late and then did not immediately start once she arrived. I had to call her TWIC...E to see if she was coming and what time she’d arrive. Once i returned home and looked at my braids the sections are completely inconsistent. I have small braids in the front and bigger sections throughout the rest. Show more
