What Is Keratin? It's a protein that's naturally in your hair. How It Works: Your stylist will clarify shampoo your hair, apply the Liquid Keratin hair-straightening product to your hair, blow dry it in and then use the heat of a flat iron to seal it in. This treatment last 2-4 months or 30 shampoos depending on how often you wash your hair. You can only use the style recommended sulfate-free shampoo after a keratin treatment to protect the longevity of the service. If you usually style your hair straight, a keratin hair-straightening treatment could shorten your blow-dry time by 40% to 60%, eliminate frizz, and actually strengthen your hair.
