Lightening Retouch Creative Color *

I have been a client of Sam’s for over a year, primarily for extension installs, which have consistently been great. However, my color results have be...en rather disappointing, often deviating from our discussions and the inspiration photos I provided. Despite my patience and attempts to communicate my preferences, my hair has frequently turned out in unexpected shades, ranging from blonde to purple rather than the desired light silver. The extension colors have also often been not fully saturated and have patchy color. There were always excuses why it’s the shade it is. Never consistent. Always different. My last two sessions were particularly frustrating and emotionally distressing. For my 40th birthday, I invested $1800 for color and longer 24 in extensions, but the outcome was far from what I envisioned, and there was no follow-up or acknowledgment from her that it wasn’t what I ask for and looked terrible when we finished. When I reached out for a fix, she managed to squeeze me in but lacked the necessary toner and offered a dark purple conditioner (which she claims was complimentary) that I didn't use. I had to purchase my own products to rectify the situation before an upcoming trip for my 40th. I shared with her that I was able to fix it on my own and I had decided to drop it and enjoy my 40th. No thanks from her end for being patient with her. But for 1800 your hair should be perfect when you leave a salon. Or you should be offered some kind of compensation on the spot. But was offered nothing. In my final session, I requested a root bleach but ended up with a sandy brown first. And then she had to quickly scramble before another client came and it ended up a dark grey hair instead of the expected result. For the first time, she proactively offered to fix it, which never happened in previous instances where I had to initiate contact for corrections every time when though anyone with eyes would see it wasn’t silver. I think it was due to the other client being there. After the fix, my hair still did not align with my desired look, and I felt her excuses outweighed solutions. She even over charged me for a creative color service I never received nor booked and then basically put the blame on me that I had approved it and paid for it so it’s my fault. Ultimately, I decided to end my services with her due to the repeated issues and lack of accountability. I never got the sense that she actually cared about my hair color and my constantly pointing out it’s not silver or what I asked for. Despite my attempts to resolve matters amicably, I felt shamed for expressing my concerns and asking for a refund. She even made unprofessional passive aggressive remarks about my mental health where it wasn’t warranted. I had been as supportive of her business as much as possible even with her struggles with zoning issues and contractors tipping 30 to 40 percent. And this is how she chose to end it. Overall, my experience has been mixed, with excellent extension work overshadowed by persistent color challenges and unsatisfactory customer service.
