I have been getting my hair cut here for the time I have lived in Albany, and I have consistently been pleased with the quality of the haircuts and th...e welcoming atmosphere of the barbershop. Unfortunately, the repeated delays in beginning scheduled appointments have become increasingly difficult to overlook. On June 26, I arrived on time for my appointment and, as has often been the case, another client was still in the chair. I understand that appointments occasionally run behind, and I am generally willing to accommodate a reasonable delay. However, delays have occurred at nearly every appointment, which is particularly challenging because I maintain an extremely busy schedule and reserve these appointments within very limited windows of availability. After being informed of the delay, I chose to wait in my car. Once I saw the previous client leave, I returned to the shop, only to find that another person had been placed in the chair. No explanation, apology, or acknowledgment was offered. Instead, the only response I received was a smirk. At that point, I left because the situation felt dismissive and disrespectful. Although, I highly favor the barbershop, regardless of how strong the service itself may be, respecting clients’ time is an essential part of customer service. I did not expect my time or continued patronage to be devalued in this way. I sincerely hope this issue can be addressed because I enjoy the quality of the haircuts and the environment of the shop (I usually hate barbershops). However, appointments should be honored with greater consistency, professionalism, and respect. My current rating reflects the outcome of this experience and not the quality of the haircuts. -Dr. Es.
