Shiela was great! She gave lessons to my 3 youngest kiddos ages 3, 6 and 8. She's super relaxed and comfortable with kids who are fearful of the water.... She knows when to push and when the kids have reached their threshold of instruction. My 6 year old son is hard of hearing and can't wear his hearing aids in the water, obviously, and Shiela picked up on how to communicate with him quickly. I.e. asking for him to repeat her instruction to make sure he heard correctly and speaking clearly face to face so he could read her lips. She totally adapted to his needs! My 8 year old really excelled under her instruction and made significant progress during their time together, enough where he's grown to love swimming and we are considering looking into swim teams in the future. My 3 year old daughter/diva didn't always last the full 30 minutes, which gave my 8 year old more time, but by the end she's improved her kicks and floating. I had low expectations for her, but she did great! In all, every one of the kids made progress with their skills and level of comfort in the water which was my goal. If you want a laid back experience with tangible results, Shiela is your gal!
