Gel twist

Walking into the shop you could tell that the establishment wasn't professionally run. I arrived there on time, meanwhile I had to wait for Tanisha to... arrive. She arrives and takes a client ahead of me. I was starting locs and thought she would be the ideal stylist seeing as how she was 15 mins away and claimed to be very knowledgeable. First Issue: As she started my comb coils she did about 2 rows and proceeded to walk outside, comes back and puts her hands in my hair, then walked back outside twice more while I was there. She also rushed coiling my hair because she had multiple clients walking in at the same time making it look as she overbooked herself. Terrible customer service. Second Issue: She put entirely too much gel on my hair. Granted I understood what texture my hair was and understood it needed extra product but not packed on to where when it dried it turned a flaky brown mess with clumbs of brown gel sitting on top of my coils after sitting under the dryer also leave my hair feeling dry and crunchy which led to itching. Third Issue: She tried to get away with upcharging me after seeing that I purchased something while getting my hair styled. Judging from this app her services state that comb coils or gel twists are $65. She tried to charge me $100. My advice is do better because I definitely washed my hair out within the next two days. Thats why us as a community will never move upward because we always are trying to get over on the next Black person. And also for all the classes she's "supposedly" taken on hair she definitely could learn a thing or two from Damian Walter on part to loc ratio, and the best products to use on all different hair types and how to use product sparingly because the brown gel didnt cut it for me. Just because you work in a hood environment doesnt mean you have to act like it. I was looking forward to being a returning customer but I definitely will not be returning. Show more
