I had a similar experience as some of the other reviews. I booked an appointment for a blow out and trim, neither of which I left satisfied with. As o...thers stated I noticed after being in the shampoo bowl for quite awhile, Latoya left without any communication and did not come back for at least 30-45 minutes. After being in the shampoo bowl for so long, another lady took me to blow dry my hair. It felt very lazily done and I had patches of wet hair more closer to my scalp and then other parts my hair was super dry. I then was put under the dryer (with my dry hair) to kill time while still waiting for the stylist to return. Once she got back and I finally got in the chair, I specified that I did not want my hair curled but somehow still ended up with curls in the front of my hair. I didn’t bother to ask for it to be fixed because I felt like my hair was already heat damaged enough. Overall, the style was ok, but the experience was lacking. Latoya was nice and professional for the most part but I do think some practices need to be improved. Show more

From reading the reviews, I’m very disappointed. Latoya rushed on my hair and took a nap while I waited at the shampoo bowl. I paid $175 for a silk pr...ess and my hair is already puffing up fresh from the salon. She came off as if she didn’t want to do my hair. I’m uncertain if it’s because I was a new client or what but the service I got compared to other clients was definitely subpar. Book Jade if you need a silk press. She’s very professional and caring even toward clients that aren’t hers. Everyone that sat in her chair was happy with the final result and they looked nice. Show more

Good morning, this is Latoya.. my apologies if you felt as if I rushed your hair yesterday.. your silk press was top tier when you left the salon last night.. of course the people I trained don’t move at my pace, I been doing hair for 15 years.. over 1000 reviews at 5 stars don’t lie.. Sorry it wasn’t your experience I wasn’t feeling well before you got to the shop so instead of leaving and canceling clients, I took medicine that clearly made me tired and sat in the back.. Since it is your first time, I usually only touch my clients at the point of silk press (flat iron) and I come over to check there hair during blow dry.. (which I actually took over during your blow drying) because I am training other great stylist like Jade and Jada to make sure they are providing the same service I have been given clients at Salon spice for the past 10 years. As far as poof, like you said, you been in braids for the past few years… it happen sometimes! But you were really silky last night when u left the salon and trim to profession! I made sure! As I always do per my reviews. You can come back by to get repressed today or tomorrow. You booked a silk press, Hydration (20mins), trim and all over color (30min) which totaled $175/ paid and walked out happy with no extended wait, just your service! I apologize if hearing I was under the weather made you feel as if I didn’t want to do your hair! That’s not the case.

My daughter and I had 9am and 10am appointments. Jade was our salon specialist. She is the sweetest most gentle person my daughter and I have been to!... We are mixed and our hair textures are so different but Jade knew exactly what we each needed and recommended some great products that have kicked our hair up a notch.
