About us

Virile's inception took place in 2011 in Waldwick, NJ. The concept was a haven where men can comfortably walk in for professional styling and be transported to an era of long ago. The nostalgia is something we keep close to out hearts and the need for proper, traditional grooming was all we wanted to submerge ourselves in. As the years went by, we grew organically and set our sights on curating more spaces to replicate eras in barbering through more shops. We now have six locations, all paying homage to different times through the golden eras of barbering. Our passion for the history of barbering and modern men's grooming is what keeps us a favorite among those who try us out! We also specialize in our own line of grooming product that are uniquely formulated here in New Jersey that promise uncompromising style.

Master Barbers at Virile Barber & Shop have shown consistency and a solid understanding of hair type, texture, density, growth pattern, and head shape; and how all those factors differ at various lengths. Furthermore, every Master Barber has to pass a written and practical exam showcasing their understanding of theory and technique.

Senior Barbers at Virile Barber & Shop are amongst the most experienced barbers we have in the shop. Over the years, they have built a clientele that showcases skills in all different types of hair.

Apprentice Barbers are in Virile's education system. They have proven to be able to execute haircuts with confidence, but need a little extra time and a bit of supervision. If you book with one of our Apprentice Barbers, you ensured to get a quality service!
