Yesterday, my son, who is 17 years old and on the autism spectrum, had a deeply troubling experience at Trieu's Barbershop. Despite sending a payment ...of $40 plus a $5 tip via Zelle for his haircut and beard trim, the barber, Tien, insisted that the money had not been received. Instead of handling the situation discreetly, Tien caused a scene in the shop, which greatly agitated my son. As a black American mother, seeing my son subjected to such treatment, and the implication of him attempting to leave without paying when we had already done so, deeply troubled me. The escalating commotion made me extremely nervous, especially since my son was not allowed to leave. Thankfully, another patron intervened, suggesting that Tien check a different cash transfer app, leading to the realization that the payment had indeed been made. Despite the ordeal, no apology was offered to us. This experience was not only distressing but also highlighted a lack of inclusivity and professionalism. We have been loyal customers of Vinny, who has always provided a pleasant and accommodating atmosphere. However, based on this incident, we will not be returning to Trieu's Barbershop. I am deeply disappointed in the service we received and feel compelled to warn others considering patronizing this establishment. Show more
