Labs excels at braiding hair, which is evident from my two visits where the braids were neat and long-lasting. During my recent appointment, they were... running a happy hour discount special on Mondays and Tuesdays, advertised on Booksy where I booked (see receipt below). However, upon arrival, I was charged the regular price of $190 ($164 charged after services +$26.00 deposit) for bra length med box braids instead of the discounted rate. When I questioned this, I was advised to contact Booksy regarding the discrepancy. If the prices on your booking site are inaccurate, I believe they should’ve been honored, and Labs should’ve handle the discrepancy with Booksy directly, not me. Paying nearly $60 more than expected based on my receipt is disappointing and may prevent me from returning, despite the quality of work provided by Labs. Show more

Third time booking appointment for my wife. First time they charged $65 second time around they were an hour an half late to the appointment and charg...ed $80 mind you this is including the deposit. The 3rd time it’s $95 plus appointment was for 12:30 come in they say come back in 30 minutes come back and she is still braiding someone else hair. If you are going to have a schedule for appointments don’t make someone come and wait hours to get their hair done if I have a set time. Then how every time you go in they are charging more and more for men scalp braids with no weave added and never on time at all. The least you can do for the inconvenience is not charge someone full price when you are late to the appointment some kind of discount. Then it’s always different people playing in your head. This is your third time coming in here and being charged a different price, and that’s because you’re getting a different style each time. Last time, I took the time to explain to you that we charge by style. It seems like it was hard for you to understand, possibly because you’re not used to getting your hair done in this way.( white girl hairstyles are different with braiding ) As I mentioned before you book, you should send a picture of the style you want so we can tell you the total amount you will pay. This information is also available on our website. However, this third time, you booked without asking for the total price. Before starting your wife's hair, she showed me the picture and told her the cost, and she was okay with it. We often run late with her appointments because you book under "men's hairstyles," which are allotted only 40 minutes. Your wife’s styles require more time as she getting cornrows with design .Proper booking is essential to avoid these issues. This is a braiding shop, not like a regular haircut or color salon. We spend more hours on clients' hair, which is why we have many braiders. I have been the one doing your wife’s hair since she started coming here. It’s normal for you to confuse me with someone else, as I can change my hair daily—it’s just a wig honey😂 Good luck, honey. ---

I will not be returning. When dealing with new customers, please provide consultation. Before arriving I ask to share what hair product to purchase fo...r the selection of style. I was informed to purchase any for my hair color. So I purchase some hair and it was incorrect. Purchased more based upon braider recommendation, I wasted money and no compensation was offered. Second my hair was not finished in which I had not realize until I got home. I reached out via text message with pictures and no response from Fancy braids by Lab. There's no drama here, just a customer who is expecting satisfaction. You are the one with knowledge with braiding and a customer relays on you. Yeswe make the final decision, however people in this day and age are conscious about their money. Know the difference between drama and how to handle business. My opinion they appear to be friendly however overall they way business decisions are conducted is not effective. Show more

You asked questions based on your hair color, not the brand or the density. Choosing between human or synthetic hair is a client’s decision, not ours. Our role is to ensure you’re informed about the type of hair you bring, so we can properly advise you on aftercare. In your case, you brought synthetic hair. I explained the pros and cons, and you decided to switch to human hair because of the maintenance benefits. (I should buy you the hair because I advised you?) BIG NO If you buy your hair and have some left over, you cannot expect me to buy it back from you. I did not sell you the hair; you purchased it from a beauty supply store. If you don’t need the leftover hair, you should return it to the store for a refund if they offer that option. It doesn’t make sense to ask me for a refund on something I didn’t sell you. Please keep the drama to yourself.

First of all, our website clearly states that we do not accept same-day appointments without call us.You booked an appointment just 2 hours in advance, but I already had clients scheduled. Should I stop working on their hair to do yours? I don’t think you would appreciate it if someone did that to you. Secondly, we do not have trainers at our shop.
