I’ve been coming to get my locs done by Jai for a few years now. First, I would like to say her prices are always reasonable. If I ever have a schedul...ing conflict she will try to work it out for me. She’s the only person in the area that I know that has you pay half of your service fee as a deposit and pay the other half of the day of service which makes it easier for me when funds are not always available. For this last service, she hit the ball out of the park. She died my hair, an amazing color and of course the re-twist came out amazing. I don’t understand why anyone would have anything bad to say because she is one of the nicest people one of the most respectful and she gets the job done Right everytime. My favorite part of every visit is her asking who put all these locs in my head knowing it was her lol. If I ever move I will travel however long just to have her do my head Show more
Starter Two Strand Twist w/ Shampoo

Overall I was disappointed, but I will acknowledge the positives first. The location was nice and so were the other beauticians. Jai was a friendly pe...rson and informative. She gave good advice on maintaining your locs and keeping your hair healthy but my issue was the outcome of my locs. They were nothing like I requested AND Jai was not inclined to correct the problem. First, Jai suggested we do my consultation virtually. DO NOT think a FaceTime consultation will be enough for a loc installation. Lesson learned. Second, before she installed the first loc I specified I wanted my parts to be like a grid or how my parts were for box braids. I wanted a distinctive line down the middle and on both sides so I can have variety in styles. I tried showing Jai pictures of other mature locs from Instagram but she was not interested. She even discouraged me from taking advice from people on social media, but IF she looked at the pictures that would have helped. Instead she gave me random, curved parts with the two-strand twists. She assured me I would have versatility over time once my hair loc’d, but the way she installed my locs they were NEVER going to grow in the pattern or the size I requested. In the salon, she turns you away from the mirror and only offers quick peeks. When I got home I noticed the curved parts and texted her immediately. She suggested I schedule another appointment for her to correct them, however, her next availability was 2 1/2 weeks later! She never even suggested a refund or discount. Plus you have to pay a $100 deposit fee to schedule the appointment so that was unacceptable. The next morning I texted her asking if I could come in that day so she could correct my parts. She said she was busy and would get back with me later in the week. I ended up taking my locs down the day after installation and had to get emergency box braids from another salon. This was such a disappointment. I had a lot of excitement for months leading up to the day, but the outcome and lack of concern was a huge disappointment. Show more

Thank you for your review! You’re absolutely right this will help me provide better service for my future clients. I would like to just address some of the things you mention. One, my deposit is not $100 it’s half of your total service fee. Two, you mention I discourage you from taking advice from social media. When it comes to keeping your hair healthy I do advise my clients not to take advice from social media because not everything on there is facts. Three, as for your parts. I advised you I would fixed the problem and try to squeeze you in next week because I was booked today. Before you left the shop I asked you several times was there anything you would like me to change and your reply was you loved it. I looked at the pictures you provided and also advise you on how I free part and you said okay. I apologize that you was not happy with your service but at the same time you didn’t give me a change to even fix the problem. Again, thank you and I hope you have a pleasant week.
