I visited this salon for the first time, and every member of the team greeted me with a warm smile Hott Rod Styles, the stylist, was absolutely fantas...tic. My hair wasn’t in great shape to start, but after the appointment I felt like a movie star. I traveled 1 hour and 20 minutes, and it was completely worth it. I came across the instagram account and liked the work so I booked an appt. He called me (five minutes prior to the scheduled time) before I got to th...e salon to tell he was running late because of traffic. I was also running 5 min late and told him no problem. He was about 30 min late. Before we entered his space, he explained to me that he’d just moved and hadn’t decorated. Again, I didn’t mind that, but when we entered, there was hair all over the floor and the chair. It’s one thing to not having decorated, but to not clean up between clients made me feel very uneasy. But my main thing was my haircut was nothing as requested and this is a picture of me 2 days after getting a relaxer. I have relaxed my hair before and never experienced anything like this. My hair looked a mess before I even left, and he asked me if I wanted to tip… absolutely not. That was already $130 wasted. He did give me a shower cap because it was raining outside. I sent him this picture 3 days after my service and got no reply. The worst relaxer and pixie cut I have gotten in 5 years of wearing my hair like this. The two stars are for calling because he was running late and the shower cap. The hairstyle gets none. First and last appointment for me. Response: The description of my experience is very accurate. I never said I liked it. My hair was cut so short, there was no way to adjust the cut anyway, so it was whatever. I could restyle it myself but my hair is not even relaxed. I reached out to you first before posting this review. I didn’t want to send you my picture, but I responded with my name, time and details of my appointment to which there was no reply, and that was a week ago. Show more

Oh wow, well first my apologies that your only experience wasn’t the way it should’ve been… but just as everyone else I have other things to handle in my life tha may interfere... I did let you know ahead of time I was running late.... you also said you liked your hair before you left... far as responding to the pic you sent… I had no idea who you were so I asked you to send a pic of yourself or your actual hair style so I could maybe explain what may have happened. I have a large clientele base… so a NEW CLIENT sending me the corner edge of her hair as a complaint and then trying to bash me in a review with 2 stars doesn’t make me a bad hairstylist. As far as the plastic cap, it was raining… I give ALL my clients a plastic cap if it’s raining… it’s being considerate. I would’ve had a problem fixing what may have went wrong if you would’ve actually followed up. Hopefully you find the stylist you’re looking for.
