I am always very happy to buy hair from Makiva. The hair is authentic and she treats me like queen.
Crying as I'm leaving this review. This experience ruined my bday & lost me hundreds of dollars. I am left with raggedy & unusable hair. Braider refus...ed to install & told me to trash & pursue a refund. Makiva refuses to make things right. Lies & gaslights - don't be tricked by the nice act. Hair quality seems falsely advertised. Take your business elsewhere. I bought some hair from Makiva's shop, excited for my bday boho braids. Ive been going through hard times & family loss & was excited at least for my hair. Makiva was super nice & helpful during purchase. $200 for 20 inches 2 bundles was a bit much for that quality, LOW LOW density & length, but it was local & I needed it quick. I took this hair home to put in a bleach bath to get a dark chocolate brown. Strangely, the hair was not bleaching well. NO other virgin hair I've bought has had issues lightening, especially with 40 developer. After an hour and 3 passes with very little color change, I decided to take back to shop next day. Next day, she insisted the hair could take bleach fine & offered to do it for me. I brought a whole wig sample for the color I want, & asked her if I should leave it there to match. But she said NO she can match w/out...I come back 30 mins later & the hair mysteriously lightened but was ORANGE. It's obvious she wasn't paying attention & over-processed it. Bc of this, the curl pattern was completely ruined & raggedy. She did not own up to her mistake & claimed I showed her that color, then said I brought a "different wig" sample⁉️ She continued to try & gaslight me. The worst part is her lies trying to blame me & not own up to her mistake. She said I "should've told her I was dyeing it" like that is a fault? Thats not something I should need to disclose if the hair is really the quality stated & that I paid for..Unless you're perhaps giving out bad hair & know it won't bleach well. She should've refunded me for the hair then & there. She should've refunded me from the start bc virgin hair shouldn't need over-processing to bleach, so reasonably leads me to believe this hair is false advertising. She said she'd fix it but said I had to buy the dye, even though this was HER error! I gave in, drove to a supply store & paid extra to fix her negligence. But again look at the quality! Even after she fixed her own mistake, it looks so raggedy. She wouldn't refund or take the hair back, even she knows it looks bad. My braider refused to install, she said I need a refund & it's for the trash. She said store hair that gets matted will look better than this. I sadly have to use beauty supply hair. Makiva should've done the right thing & refunded me, not only bc quality human hair shouldn't struggle to bleach so it's not good hair, but bc deep down you KNOW you ruined that hair. Greed & pride stopped you from accountability. I am so disappointed in how she lied & gaslit me all while acting friendly. This is not good quality hair nor a good quality business. Makiva you brought misery to me in a time where things have already been rough. Please don't treat other customers like this going forward. ⚠️Edit to her reply: Unluckily for her, I keep RECEIPTS. I recorded our convos for legal reasons so stop the lies. Her reply is nonsense but proves my point on her lack of accountability & integrity. The pics of the hair speak for themselves...she is calling that "good quality". Such poor judgment is concerning for a hairstylist. If y'all are fine with that "good hair" then feel free to go to Makiva's salon. I added a pic of the hair wet how it looked after I attempted to bleach it. Curl pattern was intact. We can see it was not me who ruined the hair. Misquoted me, I didn't bleach for an entire hour, I said I ran through 3 passes in an hour. Yes you should refund if not as advertised, which is against the law regardless of store policy. I also added a pic of hair I dyed myself, a wig NOT from Makiva's shop. I have dyeing experience. Hi ms. am sorry for this u bought the hair and bleached it yourself in which u left the hair in a bleached for an hour as u said. You brought the hair back been bleached which u know u were not a professional to bleached the hair but now u blaming me of your own mistakes. I offered to help the situation in which u told me that u wanted the hair lighter more than what u did, I colored the hair for u without charging u extra now tell me where in any shop will u buy hair bleach and bring it back. If the hair was in it original state I would’ve taken it back and refund u your $184 but u bleached it yourself and opened up curls. Am sorry for that but trust me the hair is good i will advice u not to throw it away.
Makiva doesnot sell authentic hair. What she says is available is not. Donot waste you time and money please.

Thank god for Makiva… She is awesome. I tried to do my own wig install and it was too tight so I had to take it off. I needed a replacement ASAP and f...ound Makiva’s shop online. My experience there was amazing. I purchased one of her wigs, and she installed it. The quality of the hair was excellent, and her prices are very reasonable, she did my lashes too and I’m 100% satisfied. It took a lot foe me to post this review because Makiva is such a nice person. She really is a sweetheart. The hair is not worth what I spent. It may ...be the worse hair bundles I've ever had. I purchased two 16" and one 18" and had it installed by Makiva. The install was bad too. And I got burned in 3 places. May be due to the equipment...firat time un years Ive seen a stylist use a straightening comb (electric) and a round curler on my hair and the weave. Accidents happen but the install and the hair a waste for me. Money down the drain. Hair was installed Thursday and I tool it out Monday. I would have took it.out before but I had to travel immediately after my appointment and didn't have options while out of town. Hated my hair the entire trip. Again Makiva is super sweet and has a good spirit. Best wishes all! Show more
