The stylist arrived 10 minutes late and the appointment ran longer than expected. From the start, I made it clear multiple times that I wanted dry two...-strand twists. Each time I repeated this, the response I got was, “I only use good products,” which ignored my instructions. Instead of keeping my hair dry as requested, it was drenched with gel and left wet. This is not a dry twist. I was even told to “watch videos”. A proper dry twist is done on already dry, stretched, or blown-out hair with minimal product, producing a straighter, elongated look (see attached references). When done correctly, the hair should not be soaking wet or require a dryer at all. The result I got was wet, curly, and bouncy: the opposite of what I asked for. The stylist’s public reply claims there was “miscommunication” and that the issue was my curl pattern or refusing the dryer. That is misleading. My hair only needed a dryer because it was soaked in product, against my clear instructions. I shouldn’t have had to fight to be heard about how I wanted my own hair styled. On top of this, within just 5 hours I had to wash my hair and pull the style out completely. The amount of gel used was so excessive that it caused me to have a bad reaction to the product on my scalp. This was not only unprofessional, but also damaging. To make matters worse, instead of offering any reimbursement for the unsatisfactory service, the stylist even requested a tip. I do apologize you didn’t like your hair. However it seems as if there was a miscommunication in what you wanted. When getting two strand twist it is done with a holding product for longevity. Everyone has a curl pattern so me mentioning yours isn’t unprofessional it is my profession to give you details on how and what the service will be. Now your hair being “wet” is from you refusing to be set under the dryer. Which is a step ALL my clients do when getting this done. As you mentioned your hair was left “curly and bouncy” which typically are good verbs when speaking of hair. But to each its own and Again I do apologize you disliked your service.
