I cannot leave a comment regarding the quality of my haircut. So, this comment has nothing to do with that. However, this comment does involve the att...itude of Shai. Here is some background, I scheduled an appoint originally for 12:00pm, eventually we both agreed to push the appointment back until 12:45pm. I arrived to the location at 12:30 and waited to walk there at 12:40. Before I began to walk, I texted Shai and asked which place I was supposed to go to. To her credit, she did text me but I did not receive it due to my signal while walking. Upon going to the location, there was two areas: 1) which appeared to be a salon, 2) one that appeared to be a barbershop. As I am male, I assumed that my barber would be at the barbershop. Prior to this, I did not know the gender of my barber. I walked in and asked for Shai and I was told by a gentlemen that he was “Shai.” He asked if I had an appointment and I mentioned booksy and showed him the texts I received (mind you I did not receive a text from Shai at this point yet). The barber said “oh okay, I got you man.” So, I sat down and he began the cut. As the cut began, I received a vibration on my phone. So I reached into my pocket and saw a text message asking if I were here. I said yes. They then said they were coming downstairs. I waited (as I was near stairs in the barbershop) and no one came down. I then received a call from a female sounding voice asking me where I was. I explained to her I was getting a cut in a barbershop and I thought that the individual cutting my hair was Shai. Long story short: I got my hair cut by a gentleman named Shane. He was professional and courtesy and gave me a discount due to the mix up. However, she appeared very rude and appeared to blame me. She did not ever come to meet me afterwards and had just a shitty attitude the whole time, despite pocketing my $35 non refundable deposit. Which I told her she could have. Either way, she never offered to make it right or anything and to this day I never received a message from her regarding the event. Be warned: Shai may do a fantastic job at doing hair but as far as knowing how to treat someone during a mix up, she fails. I would’ve rescheduled with her again but not anymore. Hi Rashad! I understand you’re upset. However this was totally out of my control. You decided to get your hair cut from another barber that told you he was me. I text and called twice. We talked…. This was not on me but on lack of communication on both parties. If the other barber told me that your haircut was already halfway done…. It’s out of my hands. Your their client at that moment. Hope your next experiences are better in the future.
