I decided to give this stylist a chance despite some older 1-star reviews, as the more recent ones were positive. Before scheduling my appointment, I ...contacted the stylist a week in advance to confirm pricing for my requested hairstyle. I made sure to confirm my appointment on Booksy and even followed up via iMessage, even though multiple confirmations weren’t stated as a requirement. On the day of my appointment, I received a text while on my way, informing me that my time was being pushed to 1:30 because I hadn’t confirmed again the day before. This reasoning felt unnecessary, as I had already confirmed twice and paid a deposit, which is meant to secure the stylist’s time. Regardless, I agreed to the new time because I needed my hair done. Unfortunately, I later received another message saying my appointment was being delayed further to 2:00. At that point, I decided to cancel. I had specifically booked for 12:00, and I felt it was unfair that my time slot was given away simply because I didn’t confirm again the day before. As someone who works 12-hour shifts, I don’t always have the energy to respond promptly. If it had been communicated earlier that my spot might be reassigned without a response, I would have made an effort to reply. Response to the stylists comment: Thank you for your response. As I mentioned in my review, I understand your concerns about clients not showing up, but I confirmed multiple times prior to the day of the appointment that I was coming. At no point was it stated that failing to respond to that specific message would result in my time slot being given away. I still tried to be understanding and agreed to the rescheduled time of 1:30, but it was pushed back again to 2:00, which ultimately led to me canceling. If extra confirmations are necessary, I recommend clearly stating this in your business descriptions or social media to avoid similar misunderstandings in the future. After reading other reviews, I see I am not the only person who has experienced communication issues. I also have screenshots of our conversation that demonstrate how confusing this process was. I contacted you yesterday… (and I have a screenshot of that) at 11:40AM in the morning… confirming your appointment and asking the color of your hair in preparation for your appointment … I never got a reply…This morning still no reply… you finally replied 15 minutes before your appointment with the hair color at 11:43am and I told you I took another client because I had no idea if you were showing up or not because I never got a reply the day before and I didnt want to lose a slot… but I can do your hair at 1:30 then stated closer to 2:00 still keeping communication… I even explained to you that people leave deposits ALL the time and still never show up for their appointments and I lose money … so I always contact my clients a day before, not even a night before Full day before to confirm and also discuss the hair…I still had no problem doing your hair today… you decided to cancel and I had no problem sending back your deposit which I did via Applepay … I’m sorry you had a bad experience ...Communication is so important….
