This was a terribly disappointing experience. My son has been growing out his hair for five years. It is naturally curly/frizzy, and I was hoping that... a professional stylist would be able to help him with some tips and products to tame it. Also perhaps some trimming on the top and sides to help balance out his desired look. He brought some photos in to show the barber what he was going for. What we got can only be described as tragic. The barber said he trimmed "a little bit off the ends". No. He cut off at least three to five inches. And rather than any attempt at creating some sort of stylish cut, my son has a neck-length head of hair now that has the shape of a mushroom helmet. It is the ugliest, most unflattering haircut I have ever seen. And just to put the cherry on top, his graduation is in two weeks. To say he is distraught would be an understatement. What really upsets me though, is the fact that the barber seemed to completely ignore my son's instructions. He had him facing away from the mirror as well so he didn't even realize what was happening. If the barber would have just said "I don't think I can get you the look you want with the hair you have", that would have been totally fine. Instead he chose to just hack away at five years of growth for no good reason. I've added a couple of photos. At right is the "haircut" he got. At left is the original length. That's apparently what a little bit off the ends looks like. Probably two years of hair growth on the floor. Show more
