The booking was a breeze. I read the rules of the shop. Comprehended and adhered to it all. Very disappointed when I received the call that my sister ...and grandson arrived at 7:45 for an 8:00 appointment and the barber was behind. When there are rules and regulations, they should apply to the professional as well. Then for them to feel the impersonal encounter, I was highly disappointed. I, nor my sister and grandson didn't expect the barber to ask personal questions or long conversations but a little more "chair side manners" were expected. I am cognizant of the fact that people have bad or just low days but you don't outwardly show that emotion. The 8:00 a.m. appointment was available, it was chosen purposely, one it was available and two, there were things that needed to be done on my sister’s end that put her behind for. The client's time is important as well. Please consider the way interactions are handled with clients. It makes all of the difference between returning or it being a one time appointment. The barber may not care about said one time appointment but it left a bad impression on us all. I will acknowledge that there were three things that were positive during the appointment, playing gospel music, the other barbers being friendly and the cut was great. But that's not enough for a five star review. Hopefully going forward, that there will be improvements with the services, to have a pleasant experience and be timely, like you expect the client to be.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but I feel like if you were there instead of going by he-say-she-say, you would have known that I greeted your sister when she walked in and immediately told her I was running behind. I asked who she was waiting for and made sure she was informed. Yes, gospel music was playing, and no, I wasn’t frustrated. I’ve been coming into barbershops at 6 and 7 a.m. since I was 22 — that’s normal for me. I was focused on catching up because I had car issues traveling from Nashville to Jackson that morning — but thanks for asking… oh wait, you weren’t there. I could’ve canceled my day, but instead I drove two hours on two hours of sleep to make sure clients were serviced. I didn’t have long conversations, but there was an active shop conversation that I was engaged in happening that they could've joined— that’s traditional barbershop culture, not neglect. This isn’t the “I booked you, so I only focus on you” style, and it never has been. What I did make sure of is that the haircut was done right — which you admitted was great. I apologize for being late. Life happens. And unlike assumptions, I give my clients grace when they’re running behind too. Respectfully.
