I’ve been going to TDavis for a couple of years now and I’ve never left as disappointed as I have until this last appointment. I asked for a mid taper..., wave length cut, and to leave enough hair (which was more than enough to complete what I asked for) for a duck/rat tail with a triangle shape. He repeated back what I wanted and told me “he got me”. I did not get anything that I asked for. Instead I got a basic all around even cut with a small amount of hair left at the back, that cannot even be braided. I was very upset when I saw the finished product and decided to go ahead and leave instead of losing my cool in this man’s home. I say losing my cool because he acted like he didn’t even want to cut my hair this time around due to the fact that he continued to let the clippers get caught in my hair pulling and tugging, instead of using shears first or working his way down cutting small amounts at a time and didn’t finish my line up with the razor; he rushed through my appointment. I contacted him the next day and decided to let him know, respectfully, how I felt. This man did not accept accountability and said that “he now remembered what I asked for but he’ll try better next time”. I was very appalled with his response because I’ve been a loyal client, have introduced new clients to him, and tipped well EACH appointment for 2 years. If I’ve ever overslept or cancelled appointments at the last minute, I still made sure to pay FULL price, which I didn’t have to do. I even let this man play in my head for a show he was in last year, just to support his craft. He didn’t apologize, offer to fix the cut, reimburse me, or have the next cut free, but made me feel like it was something I did wrong. He is not a true barber, nothing more than a kitchen barber, unless it’s a “who you are” or status situation. None of the cuts I received from him were worth the $60-$70 I spent, especially not this one, but I wanted to support him and I enjoyed the atmosphere at the shop he was initially at. I guess since he moved to cutting out of his home, his true colors are shining through. But I’m glad I saw this and him both at face value. I will definitely be finding a new barber or continue my journey learning to cut my own hair. Show more
