I am by no means trying to ruin anyone’s business but this review has to be made. 1000% reviews and pictures online are deceiving. My boyfriend booked... me a prenatal massage and I show up and the lady first tells me it’s going to be a problem because I’m 3 months pregnant. I said yes that’s “prenatal” she said “oh no you want to come back at 6 months pregnant” Wait, what? That makes no sense. She says it’s only going to be a relaxing massage not hard pressure, I said that’s all I’m looking for, RELAXING. Which again makes no sense, why I would come back further along in my pregnancy for a harder massage. But ok. The lady now takes me downstairs to the basement. The room looked nothing like what is pictured on their website. I’d say more like a basement utility closet and it was freezing. The bed had a single sheet on it. No weighted blankets, no heated blankets, not even a pillow case on the pillow. The lady goes to leave the room and I said should I undress and she tells me yes leave on underwear and bra. Never have I ever left my bra on for a massage but ok. I then ask her what do I cover myself with. She points to a single blanket that was folded up and in all honesty looked very much worn out. But ok still trying to give this lady the benefit of of the doubt as I know how hard it is to run a business. Maybe she gives a really good massage. So I undress and try to cover myself with the single blanket however I had to either choose between covering myself chest or my feet, the blanket was not a full size blanket. The lady now comes in to start massage and she undrapes one leg. She adds oil to her hands and I’m not sure if it’s the kind of oil she is using or maybe not enough oil, but her hands were not gliding at all. It was not relaxing and to top it off I could feel her 2 inch finger nails as she’s rubbing not massaging. Same motion up and down up and down. She now goes on to do the other leg. Both legs completely different movements no technique whatsoever. I’m convinced at this point she hasn’t done this in a while or maybe not ever. She was doing a blow dry on a client when I initially got there. She finishes second leg and asks me to flip on my side. Not sure how I’m going to do this and keep the blanket covering myself. But I try. Then she pulls out a pillow and asks me to put the pillow between my legs but this pillow also had. NO PILLOW CASE! So unsanitary. At this point I told her the legs were enough. I’d like to just stop there and pay her for her time for legs only. She says ok and I get dressed and meet her upstairs. She then asks if I’d like a wash and blow dry for the difference in price. I tell her she’s a very nice lady but that’s not what I was looking for, no thank you. The lady behind the counter has the nerve to ask me “have you ever had a massage before?” Well yes I have many of times and actually worked in a spa for 5 years, and they all had blankets and pillow cases for cleaning and sanitation purposes. So I tell her I just want to pay the lady for her time she spent on my legs. My boyfriend paid a deposit of $75. She said ok then you don’t owe anymore money. But then proceeds to ask me if I was going to tip the “massage therapist”. I’m flabbergasted that this lady would even ask that seeing the website clearly states $80 for a 1 hour prenatal massage and I paid her $75 for 30 minutes she spent on my legs. To call this place a SPA is dishonest and actually crazy! They need to put up real pictures of their said “massage spa room” so people are aware of what they are walking into! I wish I had taken pictures but I left my phone and purse with my boyfriend who waited in the car for me. So disappointing.

Thank you for your comments, It helps us understand that not everyone recognizes how professional our work is. I suggest that you get more information from your doctor regarding pregnant massage If no one had informed you, I'll tell you, as I told you personally and you didn’t want to understand pregnant women in their first trimester are not recommended to receive any type of massage, as it can pose a risk of miscarriage or placental detachment. You can look it up on Google since you like searching things on Google. From 6 months on, pregnant women experience foot pain, have trouble sleeping, are more tense, and the pregnancy is more advanced, which is when they need it the most. But since you did not want to understand what I was explaining, perhaps due to racism, and insisted that I do something to relax you, I wanted to please you even though I knew as a professional that it was not the right thing to do. If you cared so much about the cabin, the environment, and everything else that you imagined, because I've never posted any photo of my business other than real photos of my establishment and its cabins and spaces Maybe you saw some other page that is not linked to my business. But even so, you could have requested a tour, which we would have gladly given you to see our SPA.
