Knotless braids

I like my hair. However, the experience I did not enjoy. I booked for knotless braids at $180. I get there one lady tells me $260. Then constantly ask...ing me the length. I kept telling her I pay $180 for regular length (middle of my back) nothing too long. She then had me talk to the owner and the owner tried explaining to me that it starts at $180 and up. That’s not what it says when I booked. She then showed me a random picture on her wall and pointed out big, jumbo, knotless braids. I told her no, that’s not what I want nor how I want it! She then said ok, she can do medium knotless to $200. At this point, very frustrated but want my hair done so I agreed. Then 20 minutes later, another lady comes up to me and I am not even half way done and asks for payment. I tried to give her my card, she said the machine is broken to use the ATM. I told her no, do they accept Apple Pay. She said yes. Then 5 minutes later she says Apple Pay is additional $5 charge. This shop is honestly a rip off. I have never heard of this nor going back and forth with prices! The hair style I received is not worth over $200. They know it’s only $180. I was finished in about 4 hours too. Which was nice, but definitely don’t like how they up charge when you get there. Show more

This was my first experience with Nikki and it was very pleasant. She was very welcoming, personable, and informative. Upon arriving at the shop I was... very determined to get my hair braided. I transitioned from having a tapered fade to braids, so my hair length was at different lengths. I have 4 months of growth on the sides and approximately 6 months on top. While Nikki was able to catch my hair at it's natural length, she wasn't confident the braids would remain tight, so she encouraged me to implement faux hair into my braids. I was very hesitant at first, but Nikki was very patient with me and demonstrated what my hair would look like without the faux hair and with it. She was correct in multiple aspects, it aligned perfectly with my 4c hair - you couldn't tell I had faux hair and the braids looked and felt tighter than my natural braid. She even tailored my braid length, hangtime, to match my natural length of top hair. This was very important to me because I like to see my hair growth throughout the months and didn't want to be too distraught at my hair length when it's only my natural hair. Show more
