90 Minute Apprentice Massage

I booked a 90 minute massage with Cole. I usually don’t leave reviews, however because this is a school I am going to, in hopes the feedback is useful.... Cole asked how much pressure I liked and told me to let him know if I wanted it deeper or if it was good. I was glad he asked. The pressure he was applying was good, when he applied pressure. However I felt like he got lighter with pressure after a few seconds. As he massaged my back he stayed to the middle of the spine. He didn’t massage over the sides at all. Not one time did he pull or push to the sides of the back. “Love handles” were never touched. So the hip area and lower back along the tops of the hips. He also didn’t roll over the shoulders/neck area while I was on my stomach. He stopped at the top of the back. Once his hand/arm hit the top he would stop. The follow through is almost the best part. He moved into my arms and completely missed the right upper arm. He did the forearm on the right side, but didn’t touch the upper right arm at all. When he moved to my legs he wouldn’t even get the length of the quads, hamstrings and didn’t touch the adductors at all. I think he was nervous because I am female. Maybe uncomfortable. However, this is the reality of the profession. I wore underwear and expected to be massaged to the underwear lines on the hips and legs. He didn’t need to do the glutes as they were covered. On the second leg I did ask him to go the length of the muscle and he went a little higher but still not the entire muscle. I did leg workouts yesterday and was looking forward to the massage so much. At the end he asked if I wanted a scalp massage and it felt more like him gently playing with my hair. The cranium massages feel amazing! Didn’t get that today. I walked into my massage at 1047 and laid on the table at 11 exactly. He was finished with the massage at 1218. I booked 90 minutes for a reason and that 12 minutes could have definitely been used. All in all, I feel like he spent a lot of time at the table where the clock was. Usually they keep one hand on the bed or on the body if they aren’t massaging at the moment. There were times I looked up because I didn’t feel him near the bed. It felt a little uncomfortable to be honest. Didn’t really know what he was doing. It was quite sporadic and was definitely hoping for more/better. Cole, I hope you use this feedback and learn from it. I know you are a student and that is why I am being critical, it is constructive criticism. Show more

I noticed that you did not have a good flow or symmetry during the massage. You spent much more time (11-12 min) on R side of back then anywhere else,... only about 6-7 minutes on other side, did not even touch the upper L arm or either feet. I felt like you were brand new, not almost 8 months in. You only went up 4-6 inches above the knee and left the long thigh muscles bunched up. When you ask people to dress to what they are comfortable, I would then expect you to massage all the way up the leg unless they are dressed down to there. I appreciated the fact that I got a massage just like I could get from a neighbor, but if you had been the one for the massage this week, I would have canceled. I wish I could give a better review, but I can't. Show more

First of all I have gone here for several years and normally had positive experiences but I’ve only been there a few times in the past couple years an...d it’s been okay but not great. This last time though I thought I should do a review because of how much it’s been getting worse. One issue I have, and I know I’m not the only one; I’ve seen other comments about it is the amount of time advertised for the apprentice massage. It’s confusing and a little deceptive; it does say 60 minutes but then it also says 1 hour and 15 minutes, I’ve also seen it say 70 minutes before as well. Normally when I’ve gotten this massage it has been closer to 70 minutes , I think it used to be cheaper as well. I don’t know if they changed the price and cut down on the time or what but my massage was less than an hour even which seems a bit ridiculous to me. Also there was a big lack of communication with my therapist, I had asked her to focus mainly on my neck because I had been having pain there and avoid other areas that are normally done but she basically did the opposite! I tried to tell her again but not all of that was understood either. Lastly, when I was going to pay and leave there was a creepy older guy and a few other people hanging around just staring at me and I felt so uncomfortable there, I’m pretty sure this guy has some ownership there or something, I think I’ve seen him there before but it just gives a weird vibe.
