Do NOT book with Ana if you have 4c or Afro textured hair. My experience with Ana was horrible. To begin, she was about 20-30 minutes late for the app...ointment. She did text me to let me know that she was running behind schedule, but it wasn’t a great way to start the appointment. Within a few minutes of her working on my hair, it was very clear that she didn’t have the proper tools or knowledge on how to properly detangle my hair. She didn’t have a detangler nor a comb attachment for her blow dryer. When I asked about it, she kinda shrugged it off and didn’t care to properly detangle. Ana never fully detangled my hair before braiding and it created for a painful braiding experience. She had to work through a lot of knots in my hair (doing a lot of pulling and ripping of them along the way) to be able to braid. Ana took frequent texting breaks during the service. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because in the end the final product of the braid looked decent. However, Ana needs more training in order to be able to successfully braid clients with my hair texture. Will not be booking with her again until then. I do also appreciate her taking my booking last minute. Show more

This was my first visit to MiMi’s Braids and it will not be my last. Upon walk in I was greeted by everyone who were all professional and polite. The ...appointment before went over but not too crazy. Ana did my braids and she was QUICK! There was no pain or tension on my knotless braids. I received tons of compliments! Absolutely horrible. I don't even know where to start. My scheduled appointment was at 1 pm. on July 4th. When I arrived, I was told that they were "...running a little behind." Little behind turned into a 3 hour wait. Secondly, it is said to be a children's friendly salon. I found it highly unprofessional that the music that was being played via YouTube had vulgar language. Not one employee decided to switch the music to radio friendly. I had a 9 and 6 year old with me. This was going to be my 9 year old first hair salon experience, and it was a total disaster. Needless to say, by 4 pm, I asked for a refund, I should have also asked for a reimbursement for the gas and toll I spent, which was $40. I understand running a little behind, but 3 hours behind is absolutely ridiculous. Show more
