I first brought my son to Kay in August for starter locs and she has been the absolute best!!! I know nothing about hair so she has helped along the w...ay with what things to use, how often to bring him in and when it was time for him to start getting styles. Butterfly Locs

Whew. I finally have the energy to write this review after 4 days. Just think twice before booking I sent Kalia the below picture of the desired sty...le I would like. She confirmed that she was able to do the style and that hair was included. The appointment was scheduled for 8:30am Saturday. She texted me at 8am to push it back to 9:30am. Then text me at 9:12am to push it back to 9:45am. I arrived at 9:45am and as soon as she started the first “butterfly loc”, I told her I thought it was too short and it was beyond hard. Keep in mind, I asked for soft butterfly locs and SHE confirmed she could do the provided style in the picture. She reassures me that it will get softer and she will make them longer. As she continues to work, I keep asking her why they are so hard and she keeps saying they will get soft. At around 11am her friend arrives and brings more hair for my service. When she opens the delivered hair, she says it’s the wrong hair. At 4:30pm! We have to stop the service so she can go get hair. Keep in mind that my head is halfway done in a style that is not what I sent her. I go to get food while she is picking up more hair and I contact her while she is at the hair store explaining this style does not match the picture. And what hair can she get to achieve the style I wanted. She then states she could do HALF my head at the top the way I initially asked and leave the bottom the way she already did it. I told her, I would want my whole head done in the style I asked and she said she did not have the time to redo my hair and it would cost more since crochet hair is more expensive. Obviously, I too did not have the time because after all I was there since 9:45am while she wasted my time. I told her I would be not coming back after we went out separate ways YET I wanted to reach a resolution with her. She texted me saying that, I owed her $100 for her time. All the while, NEVER attempting to reach a solution. I sent her a voice note that I was not trying to NOT pay, stating that my goal was to reach a resolution. I send her $75 via Cashapp, then she responded to my voice note hours later stating that.. “Hey sorry for the super late response, just made it home & was able to explain my solution clearly. First thank you so much for the $75 cash app. I really appreciate that, most people wouldn’t send anything. I would love to keep you as my client as well 🫶🏽 you’re great & so understanding. I apologize for the miscommunication, there is more than one method for the bob length butterfly locs and I didn’t explain the crochet method. For the crochet method I do not provide the hair & it’s so much more expensive so I didn’t consider it for you. However if you’d like to take down those locs tonight I can do the crochet locs for you tomorrow evening around 530pm. Unfortunately the $75 wouldn’t go towards that service because I did buy more hair today & you left without letting my finish the style 😩 I understand it wasn’t giving the picture, but that also wasn’t my final result to give what you wanted.
