I’m gutted (annoyed) because I felt like I had to smile through my discomfort. Both my ears are heat scarred (flinching when I got burnt), was unapolo...getic about the many clumsy scalp burns. Every burn was met with nonchalance, like it was survival mode for me because I didn’t wanna piss her off. She butchered my hair, originally was a take down weave, didn’t bother about ensuring where the hair stopped (gas lit me about that as well). Went through the process of deep conditioning because I needed to have her take accountability for that. She was extra friendly when she recognized her mistake and tried to gaslight me by talking about shrinkage, but only because she realized that she did indeed chop my hair. My message to you stylists that have an issue with African clients, please stop the prejudice. Success is shared… Show more

I called last minute in a panic because my original stylist canceled on me without any notice. Thankfully, I was able to get an appointment with Kya a...nd let me just say, she was a blessing! From the moment I walked in, Kya was professional, respectful, and incredibly pleasant to work with. She’s clearly educated in her craft and took the time to ensure everything was done right. My braid-down was neat, and the install was absolutely flawless — she slayed my hair! I left the salon feeling confident and beautiful. The service was excellent from start to finish.
