I don’t usually write reviews, but Caroline is worth it. I’m a mom who doesn’t really know how to do hair, and I’ve taken my daughter to so many diffe...rent stylists but none of them were like Caroline. She is incredibly patient with my very tender-headed baby. She doesn’t just do hair she truly cares. She teaches, she explains, and she’s helped me understand so much more about my daughter’s hair. Traditional sew-ins

If you’re looking for a hairstylist who shows up an hour late and talks crap about you after you leave, look no further! I first set up a consultation... with Caroline to discuss my hair style and goals. It was a virtual consultation but I had my camera on so she could see my hair and was very thorough with the style I wanted - sew-in with no leave out. Because my natural hair is colored I was very clear about wanting my hair to be fully covered with just the edges out because it wouldn’t match the sew-in. Caroline agreed and assured me it would be totally fine. She was very confident and seemed passionate and I had seen her work on social media so I felt like giving it a chance. I moved forward with scheduling the appointment. Between our consultation and appointment, I shared a video of the inspiration hair I wanted and she again assured me she could do it and it was her favorite style to do so I was really looking forward to our appointment. On the day of our appointment, I commuted an hour to the Bronx and as I approached the sketchy block it dawned on me that she never provided instructions on how to enter the building. So I tried to contact her via IG until I received a phone number from a blocked number and it was her calling me to share the code to enter into the building. She told me she would be there in 10 - 15 minutes (first red flag). The door to the actual styling suite was closed and it was another 20 minutes until one of the other hairstylists arrived to let me and her clients in. After 40 minutes of waiting, I reached out to Caroline again and requested an ETA and she told me she was in a cab on her way and then apologized for her lateness. She walks in a little after 11am with a curt apology and then we begin. She wasn’t warm and didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. It was more of a downer when she began working on my hair and I showed her the way I wanted my hair done and she pushed back and stated for the FIRST TIME that the style I sent her (no leave out) wouldn’t work for my hair texture and the way she does her technique. Even after explaining my reasons for wanting my hair covered she didn’t provide any solutions nor did she seem open to brainstorming. It was also disappointing that it was the first time she mentioned the hairstyle wasn’t feasible AFTER our initial consultation and videos I sent her. In the end, it took her 7 hours to do a style I thought would only take 3 and it still was different from what I originally wanted. No discount offered or nothing. And after I left I could hear her and the other hairstylists talking loudly about me. Very unprofessional - I do not recommend coming here. Show more
