So your son came in-he’s 18 years old. This young man has a receding hairline at both corners, with the right side receding more than the left. I explained to him that the usual fix is to match the left side to the right so it looks even. He told me, “Do the best you can, but don’t take it back too far,” so I kept that in mind. The braider did section off a bit of hair in th front for the outline, but not enough on left side. The parting should’ve started from the highest point on the left and gone straight across to the right. That would have created a balanced out tape line. To achieve this the braider should create a single braid on the highest side. On the low but at high enough to balance with right side. Then balance there parting between the two points. In this case, he should’ve gotten his hair lined up first, then gone to the braider. Normally, I tell people to go to the braider first, but with how much hair he’s losing in the front, it would’ve made more sense to get the line done before the braids. Also, his hair had a lot of grease in it, which magethe fade take longer than usual. I had to keep wiping and brushing while fading, which slowed things down. The outline didn’t take long but it was so greasy. The braider used to much product.
