I recently took my daughter to Ayana for hair large lemonade braids, and unfortunately, the experience was quite painful. My daughter experienced sign...ificant discomfort during the session, and she even needed meds the next morning for the pain. Additionally, we asked for #4 braiding hair but got #2, which was disappointing. She sewed the sides to keep it laid down and together but it is very visible and obvious .This was not our first visit to Ayana, we previously had knotless braids done there, and while they were tight, they never caused pain to this extreme. Parts are always on point. The hair braiding sessions seem to be significantly prolonged by the multiple smoke breaks she takes. Learning lesson for my daughter to advocate for herself and speak up. She assumed it was hurting because she had her nails done but didn’t say anything to her. Either way my child is not comfortable going back to this stylist due to weed smell, pain, and the duration of the appointments.

I sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations, and I truly wish any concerns had been mentioned during the appointment so I could have addressed them immediately. To clarify, this appointment was my last of the day, and I did step outside briefly twice—each break lasting less than five minutes. Regarding the hair color, the appointment details did not specify a color preference. I confirmed the color based on previous communication with the client’s mother, referencing the shade she identified as her natural hair color being #2 from the prior style. I always review appointment details beforehand to ensure I have the correct supplies and hair color, and I apologize for any miscommunication regarding this. Before the appointment, I mentioned to the client’s mother that the style would be completed around 11:30 p.m., being I started at 7:00 p.m., and the final completion time was 11:38 p.m. I also apologize for any discomfort caused by the tightness of the braids. Since the client appeared comfortable and was resting during the service, I was unaware that the braids were too tight. That is my oversight, and I will make sure to communicate more closely with clients moving forward to prevent this. AMAZING!!!! I asked for small knotless and I got exactly small knotless with nice petite parts that match!! She got right to work,no breaks,no on the ...phone or anything just straight grind on her mind and took her time and made sure everything was nice and pretty all matched!!’❤️❤️❤️ I am recommending anyone I know to her including family and will be a regular customer off my first service from how GREAT she did my hair these are the neatest small knotless I’ve ever had she deserves to have her own shop! Please book this lovely woman she is kind and professional and took good care of my hair after losing my edges to having another son she politely covered it up without me having to ask! I had a terrible experience. My daughter’s appointment was scheduled for 7:45am, I get a text message at 1:13am saying she had to move appointment to ...9:30am due to the hair not arriving. I thought it was odd but I didn’t trip. Drove all the way from Plant City to St. Pete called to let her know I was there and she didn’t answer. It was straight in the hood for one thing and when I knocked on the door a lady answered and said she wasn’t there and was running late. I texted her to see if we could go get some food and she responded back that she had an emergency come up and couldn’t do my daughter’s hair. She finally did send my deposit back after it first said invalid payment. I did receive it, but super unprofessional. When I tried to call her she didn’t answer. Never again and I would not take my daughter to the hood to a shack to get her hair done! Totally disappointed!

Yes her appointment was pushed back due to my hair order for my boho hair not arriving the previous day as scheduled *it’s stated on all social medias that my boho hair is ordered from a vendor and takes about 3 days for shipping* My apologies if missed, but as regular people hairstylist are also human. I had an unexpected family emergency last minute and had to tend to my daughter. I was not ignoring her calls , soon as I had a way in getting in contact with the client I contacted her and sent her deposit back instantly! before she even asked for it back, so deposit send back wasn't delayed nor denied. And the comment about me conducting my business in the “hood” I’ve never had any complaints about the location due to it being a calm and quiet neighborhood regardless of the looks. I apologize for your disappointing experience and any inconvenience I caused🤍
