I came across Kimani’s shop when looking for an emergency appointment. I was able to get availability the same day which was nice. Kimani has two shop...s which are down the street from each other so she confirmed which shop upon arrival. She was completing another head but took me shortly after arrival (10 minute wait). She is training her daughter as the shampoo girl and gave her the first try of washing. For my head in particular, she took over the process. I got about 14 freestyle braids with beads and absolutely loved that the service came with a wash. I’m personally finding more braid service are expecting you to come pre-washed. Another thing I loved, she was gentle during the wash and managed my 4C hair well. No excessive pulling and tugging to detangle. The one thing to be mindful of is she a tight braider so I had a lingering headache and still feel the tightness (not headache) even as I write this review a few days later. Additionally, it did take about 6 hour total with about 30 minutes of out of the chair to pay my meter, run to the hair store, and the initial wait when I arrived. Last thing to note, her shop is clean, spacious, and she is very welcoming! Greeted me by asking if I wanted a beverage which was nice in the hot sun. Overall, I liked Kimani and would definitely go to her again for another service. Show more
