While seeking a new barber for my son I stumbled upon Jerald’s portfolio. Per his photos and 4.9 ⭐️ I assumed that he was THE barber for the job. I bo...oked a same day appointment (September 5th). Unfortunately, I was mistaken. Upon walking into the shop the vibes were there. They were humorous and joking around (as most shops do). I explained to him the haircut desired (bald fade) while humorously begging him not to botch my baby’s haircut and showing him a few pictures of my son’s usual haircuts (bald fade). I then sat down trusting his expertise. He joked as if he didn’t know what he was doing. I jokingly said if you can’t do it let me know and we’ll happily go else where. We laughed it off and the cut began. During the haircut I checked in once or twice due to him asking about the design I wanted in his head (he’s been getting the same design just about his whole life). Upon checking Jerald asked me how it looked. I said It looked fine, and that I liked the cut. The fade was chef’s kiss and the edge up was doable (nice enough to be nice). I thanked him and told him I’ll be booking him again as we’re new to the area and trying to find my son a new consistent barber. I sent him $35 ($30/cut-$5/tip). I must say under the shop light, I couldn’t tell the disastrous outcome that awaited me when I hit sunlight. I first noticed when my son and I arrived to Walmart. When he got out the car I was wiping some of the what I thought was cut hair off his face. I was mistaken again. It was his baby hairs that was left (glad it was because it shows just how far and wide he pushed my son’s edge up back). While wiping his face I noticed what looked like a tan line. Upon further inspection my heart sank. I texted him immediately with photos to which he replied stating that my son’s hairline was a little bit “tricky”. 🤔.. I didn’t respond due to me needing to process. As the days go by my son’s haircut is getting WORSE AND WORSE! This is after taking him swimming and having him wash his hair. I’m assuming in an attempt to cover up his mess up he put something on my son’s hair to fill it in. As I’m checking my baby hair on day #4 I notice a bald spot. I’m livid at this point. I text Jerald on that 4th day (Tuesday September 9th) requesting a refund and expressing my deep satisfaction ESPECIALLY due to my son having picture day next week. I also sent before and after pictures of what he walked in the shop looking like and what he looked like that on Tuesday, September9th. With no words back he sends me $30. I informed him that I sent him $35 stating that it may seem petty due to it only being $5 but it’s the principle. I’ve nicely texted him 3x requesting the remaining balance to which I was met with no response. I now have to wait at least a month and a half for his hair to be cut again due to Jerald balding my baby. Long story short…DO NOT BOOK! P.s.. My baby also stated that what they were talking about made him uncomfortable. Mind you he’s an 8 year old boy. I understand it being a barbershop, but it was two children (little African American boys) in there absorbing everything they said. It’s necessary to know when and how to filter your conversations. My 8 year old did not need to hear how to get more “b*tches” Update: He just texted me (September 11th @9:28am) after ignoring my messages to call me pathetic and assume he knows I’m hurting for cash… lol.. My experience was horrible. I was there with my wife and kids. This was my 5 year olds FIRST haircut. He has no feelings for the fact that this was hi...s first haircut. He did a horrible job. There was another barber there that was talking about his experience with his woman and it made my wife very uncomfortable. The place smelled like weed as well. I had to leave there and take my son to another barber the next day to fix his hair. They were dressed so bad with wrinkled clothes on as well as if they did not want to be there. They did not greet customers either. Just a bad situation. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!!! These other good reviews must be PAID reviews!!!!! Show more
