I had booked the appointment during her Thursday sale on Booksy, where the total was $112 for a volume set. I had already paid a $35 deposit on the ap...p, so I expected to owe $82 at the appointment. However, when it was time to pay she told me I owed $160, which would make the total $195 after including the deposit. Confused, I asked for clarification. She explained that I booked a volume set but received a wispy set, which she claimed was priced differently. While I understand that, she never informed me about the price difference. Regardless, the wispy set would still have been on sale at the time of booking, so the price discrepancy shouldn’t have been that drastic (wispy would have been $8 more making my set $120 instead of $112 and my total owed to her $90 had I known to book wispy instead of volume.) She admitted it was her oversight for not mentioning the price difference. Then, she added a $35 holiday fee, which she said was posted on her Instagram story (I checked immediately after I left, there was no story posted.) I hadn’t seen it, and if such fees exist, they should be communicated directly to the client rather than posted casually on social media. When I brought this up, she seemed upset that I hadn’t seen the fee on her story. She also claimed there was no sale that day, but I showed her my receipt sent from her Booksy confirming the discounted price of $112. Despite all this, she insisted I owed $160. I pointed out that even with the $35 holiday fee, my total should have been $117 (deposit paid + $82 balance + $35 fee). She became agitated, suggesting that none of her other clients had an issue paying and pressured me to just pay. However, the math simply didn’t add up. She eventually admitted that she might have added her numbers up incorrectly and lowered the amount to $130, but even then, I was being asked to pay significantly more than the original agreed-upon price. I stepped out to my car to get more cash but spoke with my partner, who agreed that this was unprofessional and poor business practice. If a price is given, it should be honored—adding last-minute fees and trying to justify them without clear communication is unacceptable. Expecting clients to keep up with Instagram story updates for changes to fees is unprofessional. Any changes should be communicated directly to the client in advance. Running a business requires strong communication and professionalism. She became visibly upset and started pressuring me to pay fees and prices that were never properly communicated to me. Rather than calmly explaining the situation or addressing my concerns, she resorted to making me feel bad and even tried to intimidate me into paying nearly double the agreed-upon amount. No client should ever feel scared or uncomfortable during a transaction, especially when the misunderstanding stems from the service provider’s lack of clear communication. I attached a photo of my receipt and her confirmation of the date, time, and price. She was well aware of the price and MANUALLY ACCEPTED the appointment knowing what I wanted and how much I was supposed to pay, WHICH I PAID IN FULL AFTER EVERYTHING WAS SAID AND DONE, she was paid for this appointment. After I got home, I realized she had tried to manipulate the situation by creating a new invoice at 6:01 PM—after my appointment had already ended and I was about to pay, to make it seem like my total was higher than it should have been. Even on this new invoice, the total still showed $121, which didn’t align with the amount she was demanding. I’m not sure what she was trying to achieve by lying and attempting to scam me, but it was completely unprofessional and she lost a loyal client who brought her new clients and good business. IF YOU GO TO THIS GIRL MAKE SURE YOU DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS AND DON’T LET HER BULLY YOU INTO OVER PAYING!!! Edit: After my review, she decided to text me. Very unprofessional and unacceptable. Thank you for expressing your concerns! Unfortunately due to the change of sets that this client requested, it was misunderstood where the extra charge was coming from. All though this client expressed her concerns and frustration, I very politely explained to her why there her remaining balance had change hence the UPDATED receipt that is provided below. Unfortunately I was still not paid my full remaining balance due to the misunderstanding of this client. When booking please be aware that every set has a different PRICE. If you decide to change your set during your session, I have no problem accommodating to your wishes but please your remaining will be more. Also my client expressed concern and confusion about the additional $35 HOLIDAY fee, that was also posted via Instagram the day that the appointment was booked. Due to Thanksgiving being holiday, every client was well aware of this additional fee.
