The first time I took my daughter to Mara for knotless braids, I was very pleased — the braids were neat, the size was perfect, and the price felt fai...r. That’s why I came back and asked for the exact same style and size. This time, though, I was disappointed. I paid $250 for small/medium braids, but once I got home and really looked at her hair, I noticed the braids were not the same size or quality as the first time. I reached out to Mara with pictures and asked if she could make it right, but I never got a response. I was never rude in my interactions with her, and I only wanted my concerns to be acknowledged. Since then, I’ve also noticed I’ve been blocked from her website, which was very disappointing to see. As a customer (and a mom), I feel it’s important for a stylist to be open to feedback and willing to address concerns, because that’s part of providing consistent and professional service. I truly wanted to remain a loyal customer because our first experience was so good, but consistency, professionalism, and fair pricing matter to me. Show more

I’m glad to hear your first visit went well, though I’m disappointed to learn that your second appointment didn’t meet expectations. Please know that I always make it a point to confirm client satisfaction before they leave, and in your case, both you and your daughter expressed that you were happy with the style at that time. Once a client leaves the chair with confirmation of satisfaction, any concerns raised afterward become more difficult to address — which is exactly why I ask for feedback in the moment. As a professional stylist and a mother of two, my schedule stays very full. I do my best to accommodate everyone, but I’m not always able to offer immediate appointments for adjustments or changes. Additionally, this is the second time you’ve raised concerns after the appointment was completed, which is why I made the decision to block future bookings. I strive to work with clients who communicate openly during the process so that any issues can be resolved right away. I welcome constructive feedback it helps me improve and grow. However, I don’t appreciate attempts to discredit my business, especially when concerns are raised weeks after the service. Your daughter’s appointment was on August 11th, and your review was submitted nearly three weeks later, which makes it difficult to address the situation effectively. I’m sorry things didn’t work out between us, and I sincerely hope you find a stylist who meets your needs moving forward.
