This is our second time going to Ashlei and this time was better than the first! Sheā€™s such a sweet person, very professional, and passionate about he...r work. We booked a crochet style for my daughterā€™s 13th birthday (which came out great) but Ashlei also gave me tips about products for my 4c hair, and she styled it just so I can see how great they work. She transformed my curls..they look so defined, hydrated and healthy! Her space is always clean and comfortable which is appreciated! Weā€™ve been looking for a stylist for a while but our search is over because sheā€™s exceeds expectations.. My daughter is absolutely in love with her and I agree because she is very polite and has a great personality! You can tell she cares about her clients and thatā€™s important to us so I canā€™t wait to go back in a few weeks so she can do her magic again for Christmas!

This is the second time Ashli has done my daughterā€™s hair. The first experience was great. She was very accommodating with scheduling a day. The hair... style was beautiful. Today started off good. When we arrived we confirmed the hair style and I asked about the hair that I brought. I specifically said that if the hair doesnā€™t work, I would go exchange it. She told me multiple times that she could work with the hair that I brought. (This was at 9:30am). Around 11:30ish, she says that she canā€™t work with the hair but then says that she thinks that she could finish it with a different technique. I go back to the waiting area to wait. Around 12:30, she says that it is taking too long and she has a client coming in at 2:00 (but she would ask them to come later). She also stated that she wasnā€™t aware that I didnā€™t ā€œlikeā€ the hair at the store, but I let her know that the prices are more expensive than other locations. I asked her if she could just stop the style (the top was braided and the back was prepped for the crochet). I was willing to pay her $50 of the $75, but I was no longer willing to go to the store at that point (3 hours later). She wanted to try to keep going but kept emphasizing that it was taking too long and I didnā€™t feel that she could guarantee that the crochet would stay in her hair. She kept stating that it wasnā€™t fair to her to stop since she already did most of the work. But she failed to comprehend that I tried to address the hair when I arrived so that I could have switched it out sooner. She told me several times that she could work with it. At that point I asked ā€œwhat would be a fair price that she was willing to acceptā€ and she began to get frustrated because she wanted the entire amount. I told her I would give her the full amount but I would NOT be coming back to her. This issue couldā€™ve been nipped in the bud when I asked her about the hair initially. Itā€™s not my fault that she waited to open the hair and try to use it and became frustrated that she couldnā€™t figure it out. I wouldā€™ve loved to go back to her as I like the atmosphere of the shop and I believed that she had a nice demeanor but this situation did not sit well with me, especially since I tried to make a compromise but she only wanted to state what was unfair to her without acknowledging what was unfair to the client.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Iā€™m truly sorry this visit didnā€™t meet your expectations, especially since your first appointment went so well. I always aim to provide a positive experience, and I treat my kid clients like my own, so this situation was disappointing for me as well. To clarify, the concern about the hair came up while I was already styling, close to noon not at your 9:30am arrival. By then, your daughterā€™s hair was prepped and mostly completed. You mentioned I didnā€™t open the hair at the start, but you also could have contacted me beforehand to confirm the type needed. I tried to work with the hair you brought so you wouldnā€™t have to run around on a holiday. Once I began installing it, I realized the texture wouldnā€™t hold the crochet properly. Thatā€™s why I feel you suggested exchanging it, I offered again since weā€™re located inside a beauty supply store. My only goal was to make sure your daughterā€™s style lasted and looked its best. She was happy with it, and it was turning out beautifully. I never want any client, especially a child, to feel uncomfortable. The style was almost complete, with crochet pieces already installed, and I also washed, blow-dried, and oiled her scalp. The $75 reflected the work done. I didnā€™t feel it was fair for the service to be canceled at the end and for you to decide the price. I appreciate your previous support and wish you both the best. Warmly, Ashlei

Ashlei is PHENOMENAL!! Highly recommend her services especially for kids! She was so kind and patient with my daughter. Throughout the entire service ...her energy was top tier, my daughter loved sitting for her and she canā€™t wait to come back. I have definitely found the stylist I was praying for! She treated my daughter like her own, hyped her up and boosted her confidence!
